Oregon Media Production Association celebrates achievements of commercial, film, TV and interactive media production in Oregon at their annual meeting on Tuesday night. December 6, 2013 – Portland, Oregon – Oregon Story Board, launched earlier this year by a consortium of research, private, and state groups, today welcomes its inaugural Executive Director Nicholas de Wolff, after a comprehensive national search. Nicholas will be responsible for developing and overseeing the organization’s strategic and operational mission.

Organization – The Oregon Story Board is a 501C6 organization that actively promotes the growth of digital media production in Oregon through investments in Incubation, Education, and Industry Development.The Oregon Story Board is currently funded primarily through the state of Oregon’s innovation initiative called the Oregon Innovation Council (Oregon Inc.).

Polluted Pictures is now accepting online submissions for their most current project which is currently “Untitled.” We are shooting this project in accordance with the SAG SHORT FILM guidelines with deferred pay. This film is being produced as a “proof of concept” for a feature film shooting later this year. Our previous three feature films were financed through similar “proof of concept” pieces. With the passing of HB 3367 and on to the Governor’s Desk for signature, the Oregon Production Investment Fund now has a little breathing room to consider new projects. The expansion of OPIF (extra $4million a year) will not go into effect until early October but in the meantime the fund does have approximately $700,000 available for new projects. We have received three applications already and are reviewing those applications but we would like to open up the application process for the next week and consider all applications submitted between July 1 and July 19 at the same time. On Monday July 8, the 2013 Oregon Legislative session wrapped up, and it has proven to be a landmark legislative session. On Monday morning the House concurred with the amendments the Senate passed for HB 3367 over the weekend resulting in an increase annual allocation for the Oregon Production Investment Fund tax credit. The allocation in OPIF will go from $6million a year to $10million a year. Other important legislation that will positively affect Oregon’s film, television, and digital media industry includes HB 5028 which allows the Oregon Innovation Council to fund the Oregon Story Board, and SB 836 which exempts film, tv and theartical hair, and make-up professionals from certain cosmetology regulations.
