It was a great evening last night in Salem as the special screening of “Meek’s Cutoff” was bigger than anticipated. We’re waiting on the final tally of ticket sales but we’re expecting between 400 and 500 total tickets were sold for the event. Prior to the screening we hosted a reception for several legislators, industry members, and cultural trust board members. We were expecting about 10 legislators to come to the event but my last count was 16 including Senate President Peter Courtney and Speaker of the House Arnie Roblan. Oregonian writer Kristi Turnquist posted this piece today collecting all the photos and tweets coming from the cast and producers of “Leverage”. This year the team decided to shoot the opening episode up in the Mount Hood area which is the first time the show has left the Portland Metro area. 2011 Shaping up to be Big Year for Oregon Film and Television Jobs
The Governor’s office of Film and Television reports that 2011 will be the biggest year for total dollars spent on film and television projects in Oregon’s history. Two television series filmed in Oregon, “Leverage” and “Portlandia,” have already announced that their networks have renewed their series.

These videos will be played for the Oergon State Legislature at the continuation of the initial house hearing (on HB 2167) this Friday. HB 2167 proposes increasing the annual amount allocated to the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF).
