COP’s “Tell Your Story” Grant Opens For Submissions Monday, April 3rd

Oregon Film through its Creative Opportunity Program is offering two grants of $15,000 each to Oregon-based filmmakers or filmmaking teams. The grant is designed to support a non-project-specific, virtual residency, allowing filmmakers to develop, explore, and shoot the stories they want to tell in any film format they choose. While all applicants are welcome, there is a special emphasis on those from Oregon’s beautiful rural regions and the BIPOC community, including but not limited to Latina/Latino, Asian American, and Pacific Islanders. OAFG21 Grant Winner, “You Go Girl!” Gets Spotlight In New Yorker Magazine

We are excited to see Vivian Cheng’s article and spotlight in the New Yorker magazine (Interviews Issue+ Screening Room) today on Shariffa Chelimo Ali, Director + Co-writer of “You Go Girl!”.

“You Go Girl!” – the fourth annual Outdoor Adventure Film Grant– “Oregon’s Outdoors Are For Everyone” winner (OAFG21) screened at Sundance 2022 in the U.S. Live Action Short Films, and also the Oregon Shakespeare Festival O site. Filmmakers, Shariffa Ali, Kamilah Long, Courtney Williams, and Adrian Aleas’ short film tells the story of Audrey, a New York City comedian who can make a joke of any situation, facing a staggering challenge in the beautiful mountains of Oregon. Oregon Media Arts Fellowship – Now Open for Applications

The Oregon Media Arts Fellowship is a biannual award provided by the Oregon Arts Commission and overseen by the Portland Art Museum’s Center for an Untold Tomorrow (PAM CUT) for outstanding achievement and creativity in the field of media arts in the state of Oregon.

Applications for fellowships will be accepted from
January 30 – March 31, 2023

Outdoor Adventure Film Grant Now Open for Submissions through Feb. 17

A new $20,000 to $25,000 grant is now open for submissions through the #OregonMade Creative Foundation. Submissions for the 2023 Outdoor Adventure Film Grant will be accepted through 5p on February 17, 2023.

The Outdoor Adventure Film Grant ’23 (OAFG23) aims to help support and amplify stories and storytellers (both in front of and behind the camera) utilizing Oregon’s outdoor spaces as a backdrop. The OAFG23 specifically invites experienced BIPOC filmmakers and on-camera subjects that can create a short film pitch that should be able to inform, inspire, capture and/or reveal a personal journey involving an outdoor pursuit that is set against the backdrop of Oregon’s majestic landscape. Grant ALERT! The Outdoor Adventure Film Grant 2023 Applications Taken Starting January 23rd!

 

Oregon Film, and the Oregon Made Creative Foundation in conjunction with Travel Oregon, are pleased to announce the 2023 Oregon Outdoor Film Grant (OAFG2023) – the 5th grant in this collaboration.

This year’s grant is seeking to invite filmmakers to explore the “Nature Gap” – the term that describes the uneven and inequitable access to wild, outdoor spaces in America.

Natural space is supposed to be free and accessible for everyone, but in reality, it is not apportioned equally to all races, ages, genders, or income groups.

Creative Opportunity Program Launches for 2022-23

Last legislative session a bill passed that allowed Oregon Film to allocate funds to a program called the “Creative Opportunity Program.” This program dedicates up to $375,000 per year to creative projects, producers and programs around the state. These programs include the continuation of existing programs like the Pathways job training and placement program, the Outdoor Adventure Film Grant, the Tell Your Story Grant and partnership programs like CINE/SEEN and Creatives of Color Networking events (OMPA) and the BIPOC Filmmaker Grant (BendFilm). Four Local Film Projects Awarded Post-Production Grants

The Portland Film Office, in partnership with Travel Portland, has announced the recipients of its 2022 Portland Post-Production Grant Program. Selected from a pool of  23 applicants, four local filmmakers will receive $7,500 each for their respective projects.

The grant program is intended to support the professional development of local Portland filmmakers by providing funds for such activities as sound, picture editing, color matching, color grading, closed caption, tech specs for distributors, and music clearances using local post-production houses. Portland Post Production Grant 2022 Opens March 15

Attention local filmmakers: The Portland Film Office is happy to announce a Post Production Grant opportunity is opening March 15. Applications will be accepted until March 30.

 

The Portland Film Office, in partnership with Travel Portland, is proud to offer a grant opportunity for Oregon-based independent film productions to support and offset the cost of the post-production process.

The winners of the third annual Outdoor Adventure Film Grant – “Oregon’s Outdoors Are For Everyone” – recently presented their winning project “Any Oregon Sunday.”

The Winning Team: Kanani Koster, Janie Faison, and Tiffany Lindquist – all based in Portland, OR, and dedicated to telling “diverse and authentic stories that are created by a majority of women and POC-identifying locally-sourced cast and crew” put together this inspiring and uplifting documentary project portraying Adventure MotorSports in Oregon, specifically told through the lens of diverse women riders.
