Oregon Vendor Spotlight: Shop Adorn

This summer, our team of Oregon Film student interns (Sabrina, Justen, and Jake) embarked on a project to interview some of the local vendors that have recently experienced an increase in business due to the film and television industry. By the end of the summer, the interns had produced eight short videos for their “Oregon Vendor Spotlight” series. We will be rolling out the videos over the next four weeks. “Center of Gravity” in the 20th Raindance Film Festival in London

Portland based director Steven Richter’s feature film “Center of Gravity” is in the official selection for the 20th Raindance Film Festival in London (Sept.26 – Oct.7 2012).

The film was shot in five days in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with two cameras, a minimal crew and budget, starring Brazilian actors Julio Machado and Ana Carolina Lima. Based on a story by American writer David Plante, “Center of Gravity” deals with universal questions about love and our expectations toward the beloved, the thin line that simultaneously divides and unites one another. The Leviathan is Headed Your Way…

Recently, we announced that our debut film, Nightscape will be showing at the Montreal Comiccon Horrorfest. Nightscape was one of 15 films selected by the festival as part of its initial feature film lineup. The festival, which runs from September 14th through the 16th in Montreal, Quebec, will showcase a total of 30 features from around the globe.

Nightscape is about an emotionally-guarded drifter who crosses paths with a phantom car responsible for a wave of supernatural violence. Cell Count News

 

PORTLAND, Oregon (August 22, 2012)  The feature film “Cell Count” premiered on May 20th at the Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival in Brazil and plays at the Macabro Film Festival, Montreal HorrorFest, Sitges Film Festival, and Celluloid Screams festival later this year.  Today marks the 6th film festival acceptance from the 13th Annual Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival in Argentina.   The BARS is supported by the National Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts, sponsored by the Film Museum of the City of Buenos Aires and declared of cultural interest by the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.   Continue reading... “Cell Count News”

Independent Feature, “The A-List” Wraps

We stopped by the set last week on the penultimate day of shooting for “The A-List“, an independent comedy feature  about a high school senior who is “coerced by his guidance counselor into fulfilling a list of all of her high school fantasies in order for him to graduate”.  This is a first feature to be produced for writer D.J. Nike Brings You the “ParaNorman” Shoe #weirdwins

You all know the connection between LAIKA and Nike so it’s no great surprise the Nike has released a “ParaNorman” shoe tied to the release of the film.   Regardless this is pretty cool!  We found the news in this morning’s Portland Business Journal but the gallery showing the shoe can be found here on examiner.com
