This summer, our team of Oregon Film student interns (Sabrina, Justen, and Jake) embarked on a project to interview some of the local vendors that have recently experienced an increase in business due to the film and television industry. By the end of the summer, the interns had produced eight short videos for their “Oregon Vendor Spotlight” series. We will be rolling out the videos over the next four weeks. Oregon Film Interns in Bend interviewing Greg Knowles from ATI
This summer we were lucky enough to have four summer interns who were interested in learning more about the impact of the local film and television industry. At the beginning of the summer, we had Veronica intern with us. Veronica is studying business in school and was willing/interested in analyzing more than 25,000 lines of data we gave her regarding the local vendors used on the first 12 episodes of “Grimm”. Portland based director Steven Richter’s feature film “Center of Gravity” is in the official selection for the 20th Raindance Film Festival in London (Sept.26 – Oct.7 2012).
The film was shot in five days in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with two cameras, a minimal crew and budget, starring Brazilian actors Julio Machado and Ana Carolina Lima. Based on a story by American writer David Plante, “Center of Gravity” deals with universal questions about love and our expectations toward the beloved, the thin line that simultaneously divides and unites one another. Beloved by fans for his bluesy/soulful vocals, stick-in-your-head melodies, and high-energy shows, singer, songwriter, and musician Roshan Maloney has gained the reputation of a serious double-threat performer.
Revolver Digital Media Studio,LLC (Revolver DMS) partnered with Roshan in 2011 to produce a music video for his hot single “Run Out of Luck”. The video received positive reviews from both critics and fans for its energetic cuts and warm imagery. A little over a year has past and Revolver DMS has decided to produce a more ambitious video with higher stakes; aided by a heist inspired storyline. Recently, we announced that our debut film, Nightscape will be showing at the Montreal Comiccon Horrorfest. Nightscape was one of 15 films selected by the festival as part of its initial feature film lineup. The festival, which runs from September 14th through the 16th in Montreal, Quebec, will showcase a total of 30 features from around the globe.
Nightscape is about an emotionally-guarded drifter who crosses paths with a phantom car responsible for a wave of supernatural violence. PORTLAND, Oregon (August 22, 2012) The feature film “Cell Count” premiered on May 20th at the Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival in Brazil and plays at the Macabro Film Festival, Montreal HorrorFest, Sitges Film Festival, and Celluloid Screams festival later this year. Today marks the 6th film festival acceptance from the 13th Annual Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival in Argentina. The BARS is supported by the National Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts, sponsored by the Film Museum of the City of Buenos Aires and declared of cultural interest by the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.
