Today in the Hollywood Reporter, IFC officially announced the air date for the second season of “Portlandia”. The show will premiere on January 9 at 10:00PM. With the announcement came mention of more guest stars set to appear in the second season including Tim Robbins, Kristen Wiig and “30 Rock’s” Jack McBrayer. Knowing that there were as many as 20 guest stars slated to appear in this second season, we can’t wait to hear who else showed up in Portland to do a bit on the show. On September 25 Gus Van Sant and James Franco will be at the Hollywood Theater to screen their film “My Own Private River” which is a re-imagined look at Van Sant’s classic film ‘My Own Private Idaho”. After their collaboration on “Milk”, Gus shared with Franco the original dailies from the film and the two came up with the idea of re-cutting the film. Portland, Oregon—Writer-director David W. Edwards announced the main cast for his first feature film, Nightscape. The film stars, in alphabetical order: Emily Galesh, LaVerne Green, Joshua St. James and Jorge Madrid. The film shoots later this month in and around Portland.
In Nightscape,an emotionally guarded drifter, Kat (Galesh), crosses paths with a phantom car responsible for a wave of supernatural violence. The drifter must learn to trust again if she is to end a lifetime of bad luck and to help her newfound companions survive the growing chaos and carnage. So the cat’s out of the bag – “Grimm” is committed to shoot in Oregon for it’s first season. Kristi Turnquist wrote about it today in The Oregonian. We are absolutely thrilled to know that three television series will be shot in Oregon this summer. In the coming weeks we’ll have more information on the production including a crew call.
