The US Commercial Service Office and their counterparts in the U.S. Embassy in Brazil, are supporting U.S. firms participation in the Rio Content Market (RCM) next March.  They would like to get the word out to the Oregon creative community who has content they may be interested in offering internationally.  The exhibition is the largest event of its kind in Latin America (3500 attendees last year).

SOAR, a new documentary featuring local dancers Kiera Brinkley and Uriah Boyd and directed by local filmmaker Susan Hess Logeais, will premiere on Thursday, October 22 at 7:30 pm.  The screening will take place at the Hollywood Theatre (4122 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland), and will feature a Q&A with the director Susan Hess Logeais as well as co-producers Kiera Brinkley and Uriah Boyd. Tickets are available in advance at the Hollywood Theatre website or at the door for $10, $5 for Students (with ID). Sasha Roiz (“Grimm”) Appointed To Doernbecher Foundation Board Of Directors

Actor Sasha Roiz (Captain Sean Renard, “Grimm”) has held an interest in helping patients at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital for several years since coming to Portland to shoot the NBC Universal series.  Earlier this year Roiz put together the “Grimm Gives Back” fundraiser, that incredibly, raised $310,000 that was then donated to the “Grimmster Endowment Fund”. Above Slater Smith and The Weather Machine play “Wild West Coast” at Peter Skene Ogden State Park .  Four more bands will be featured at four other state park locations.  (To learn more about this project, listen to OPB’s State of Wonder this Saturday at noon.)  You can read more about Slater Smith, and Oregon State parks’ quest to bring music to the outdoors at OPBMUSIC.

NW Documentary’s Les Voyageurs To Screen At Telluride Mountain Film

Telluride Mountain Film is “an annual festival, a worldwide tour, a diverse community and a champion for change.”  Les Voyageurs Sans Trace’s story follows three French kayakers who descended the Colorado River in 1938 to explore the American West and filmed their feat in color film. The 16mm color film predates Hollywood’s first color movie, The Wizard of Oz, and is the first color adventure film.
