You only need to glance at the comments posted on this YouTube clip to see how this particular commercial, showing off the new Audi A6, has people fired up! But non-the-less, we like car commercials and we have many shooting here to know! They often have healthy budgets and of course, provide local jobs. We make an effort to promote the versatile roads of Oregon and in some ways it’s not that difficult; beautiful high desert, mountains, beaches, urban scenes, small towns and an easy distance between them.
Eastern Oregon Film Festival is primed to present it’s 3rd annual program beginning Thursday, October 20-Saturday October 22, in La Grande, Oregon. The program is packed with award winning films, guest directors, Skype Q&A’s, some of the best NW bands, and a wonderful and masterful collection of shorts. This week IFC put this clip up on their website to give fans of “Portlandia” a taste of what is to come for season 2. We all know that Oregon loves it’s recycling! In fact all you Portlanders – are you ready to start the city wide composting effort that begins October 31? Hopefully we’ll see more clips of “Portlandia” in the weeks leading up to the show’s season 2 premiere on January 9.
Last week Jody Wiser put out this information on the Tax Credit Auction that is about to happen through Oregon’s Department of Revenue. This auction process will be the same process for the Oregon Production Investment Fund next year. In the mean time check it out and consider the benefits.

Once again Quarter Orange will kick the pants off Halloween weekend with a raucous night of unfettered awesomeness and horror at the Holocene. Badassery to include: A screening of local horror short Evidence of the Sasquatch, which documents the grizzly demise of four filmmakers on a location scout in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Brief Q&A with the filmmakers following the screening. Jams from local electric party monster, Kind Brother and rock providers, Father Figure.
Join us for an amazing night of local film, music and Halloween pageantry.
In today’s People website, there is a good video sneak peak of “Grimm”. Most of the cast is interviewed about the show. Towards the end of the video the cast talks about the experience of filming in Portland. Even though they are beginning to experience the pleasure of the rain coming back into the Northwest, the cast seems to be enjoying the experience. Be sure to check out the video here.

You must watch this video! It brings to life one of Portland’s greatest mysteries. Thanks Harold Phillips for digging up this very important video.
And if you don’t get it – go here.
I’m never big on talking about the projects that “got away” from Oregon but in this case I want to make an exception. “A Year in Mooring”, written by Salem writer Peter Vanderwall and directed by Chris Eyre who was born in Portland. A few years back my office was contacted about this film as the original story was set in Oregon. Unfortunately between bad timing, competing projects and a scarcity of incentive funds, the project went to Michigan and is now set in Michigan.

Over the last couple of years Hinge Digital has built up an impressive reputation as a go to place for all things animation. As a result more and more agencies and clients are taking notice. Recently Hinge worked with Sockeye Creative on this commercial for Dick’s Sporting Goods.
That’s not all they’ve been working on. Be sure to check out their 2011 reel to get a good idea of all Hinge has to offer. Their blog also has a more in depth look into their work.
