PIGSquad + Patreon Present: Drink N’ Draw @ Design Week Portland

PIGSquad and Patreon have joined forces to host an evening of locally-made games and art!

Games will be open for everyone to play, and we invite artists to come draw fan art of the games on display. All artists (or non-artists!) are welcome to make game-inspired art. Along with the 20 local indie games, we’ll have Virtual Reality stations, including Tilt Brush!

For those of you who are up to the challenge, we’re bringing back Art Battles with Jolby: a competition of lightning round artwork creation over the course of 15 minutes!

You have all the footage, now what? This class teaches the techniques and process of editing a no/low budget documentary film, either from footage that you have already generated, or from footage provided by the instructor or another member of the class. Get comfortable with editing software and workflow, and receive hands-on instruction for organizing and sequencing the material into a cohesive and engaging story.

NW Youth Careers Expo Filmed By Students

We had another stellar turnout of high-schoolers at this years’ NW Youth Careers Expo, (over 6,500) and two Portland Public School student videographers, who were part of our Job Shadow Program last year, were on hand to film, and produce the video that told the story.  Great job!  See photos from the expo.

Grimm Crew is #OregonMade

The Final Episode has aired for the long-running NBC Series “Grimm”, and we wanted to celebrate and congratulate the deeply talented local crew that worked so hard to make the show all that it is.  To that end, many of them came together for an afternoon at Picture This and spoke about what the show, and the state, meant to them. We’ve put together a short promo of those people and that day here.

As some of you know, I’ve been coaching actors for dialect roles in film and television since 1992 through my Eliza Doolittle Dialects school. (This is really the foundation of my popular Accents & Dialects Masterclass.  In it, I’m going to be teaching my 3-pronged method for learning any accent or dialect for voice actors and character actors.

Ashland Independent Film Festival Announces Program Details

The Ashland Independent Film Festival has announced its lineup for the five-day, five-night festival April 6-10 in venues across Ashland. The 16th annual festival will give a nod to both the future and past with an exciting lineup that pays tribute to the roots of independent film, and new collaborations between film, art, and live performance.

The year’s lineup includes over 100 films that were narrowed down from more than 800 films submitted to the festival, or specially selected by AIFF Director Richard Herskowitz.
