From the team that recently won the fourth annual Outdoor Adventure Film Grant – “Oregon’s Outdoors Are For Everyone” (OAFG21) with their winning application, (entitled, “You Go Girl”) is their newly released, “Ash Land.”  This short film is part of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s “O!” original programming  – an immersive and interactive digital space where there is something for everyone. New streaming channel for shows about archaeology and cultural heritage!

We have exciting news about a new streaming channel that our Oregon nonprofit has created for shows about archaeology and cultural heritage.

We made this for people who may be tired of mindless reality TV shows, or watered-down content disguising itself as science, and who might be interested in binge-worthy shows, NOT from Netflix, that people can watch on their own smart TVs.

After having been streaming video online for more that 20 years, and having access to a network of hundreds of content producers and distributors around the world, ALI is well positioned to develop this new service. Disney’s, “Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey” has become a solid family favorite – it tells the story of three pets, two dogs and cat, “Shadow”, “Chance” and “Sassy,” who escape from a California ranch and travel together for miles over rough terrain in order to find their owners who had recently moved to San Francisco. Production started in 1992 and this feature shot most of its scenes at locations such as; Joseph, Eagle Cap, the Deschutes River, the Gorge, Portland and Central Oregon among others – all doing an admirable job standing in for the California Sierras and San Fransico. The series is called “The Fairfield Boys” and we are bringing the great American western to Oregon!

Our Story:

In the backwoods of the old west, two brother outlaws (The Fairfield Boys), are hunted by a skilled bounty hunter out for his own kind of justice. Inescapably the brother’s lives are intertwined with two unsuspecting runaways, changing all of their lives forever. The film plays in a fun block of comedy shorts as part of the Portland Underground Film Festival at the historic Clinton Street Theater on Sunday, January 19th at 5pm.  The film will be followed by a Q and A with Director Josh Hoffman.

Oregon Film Trail Continues in Salem!

Two Oregon Film Trail signs were unveiled over the week end honoring Salem’s starring role as a location for “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest” (the honors being done by Oregon Museum of Mental Health Museum Curator, Megan Lallier-Barron and Dennie Brooks, Board Member.)  The signs mark two different filming locations related to the now classic feature film, “One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest,” and feature facts and anecdotes about the film. “First Cow” In Main Progam At The 46th Telluride Film Festival

The 46th Telluride Film Festival line up included in its main program the #OregonMade feature, “First Cow.”  The film is directed by Kelly Reichardt, based upon the novel by Jonathan Raymond (and written by Raymond and Reichardt) and produced by Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani and Vincent Savino. Many on the production team have worked together on other #OregonMade projects such as; “Wendy and Lucy,” “Night Moves” and “Meek’s Cutoff” among others.

8th Stop On The Historic Oregon Film Trail – Hammond Marina, Warrenton

Yesterday, at the Hammond Marina, Warrenton, the 8th sign on the Historic Oregon Film Trail was unveiled.  For film buffs, Oregon is a haven of locations and stories from more than 100 years of filmmaking. Inspired by these nostalgic backdrops, The Historic Oregon Film Trail, launched in Astoria earlier this year was designed to identify iconic set locations around the state. The latest addition to the trail—highlighting the scenic Columbia River views from “Free Willy”— will be in the neighboring town of Warrenton, Oregon.
