You are invited to celebrate the brightest rising stars in Oregon at the 2014 Oregon Actors Awards. The awards show, sponsored and attended by talent agents, actors and industry supporters from around the region, is this Sunday October 12 at BodyVox in Portland. “Deep” Film Premiere

DEEPPORTLAND, OR (September 10, 2014) – Ghanaian filmmaker Richmond Asamoah, is set to have a Red Carpet premiere of his new movie DEEP in Portand Oregon, Friday October 24th, 7 pm at the Portland Community College Cascade Campus, Moriarty Auditorium in Portland Oregon.  A special screening will take place Sunday October 26, at 4 pm at Portland International Church at 22 NE 80th Ave, Portland, OR 97213.

Portland Opera & OMSI Film Series “Opera on Screen”

Portland Opera and the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) have launched “Opera on Screen,” a series of high-definition film screenings featuring recent productions from the San Francisco Opera. The series opened on September 5th with Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and Mozart’s Don Giovanni and continues with Puccini’s La Rondine, and Samson and Delilah by Camille Saint-Saëns.

“Brother In Laws” Currently Filming in Southern Oregon

Bill Pullman (“Independence Day”, “While You Were Sleeping”) and Rita Wilson  (“Jingle All The Way”, “Runaway Bride”) are currently starring in “Brother In Laws” (working title) shooting in and around Klamath Falls this month and next.  Downtown Klamath Falls, a rural cabin, and Lake of Woods are some of a number of locations being used.  Line Producer, Jenny Hinkey, told NBC 2 News, that she expects at least $700,000 will be spent in the local economy.  Hinkey said, “In a very brief amount of time we can have a have a great impact on an area, and it’s a lot of fun for the community”. Fox Searchlight’s “Wild” Premieres In Telluride

The 41st Telluride Film Festival announced it’s lineup today. Fox Searchlight Picture’s “Wild” will be premiering at the festival.  “Wild” starring Reese Witherspoon, and produced by her production company, Pacific Standard, shot in more locations throughout Oregon than any other project filmed in the state to date.  From southern Oregon; Crater Lake and Ashland; to the Badlands, Smith Rock and Bend in Central Oregon; and also the Portland metro area, Timberline and Bridge of The Gods in the Columbia River Gorge, to name a few.  Continue reading... “Fox Searchlight’s “Wild” Premieres In Telluride”

Congratulations Nathan Cherrington and his wife, Lisa, The Governators, who trounced all comers at the 5-hour croquet tournament of the OMPA Classic powered by Zarr Studios. The Governators, representing the Oregon Governor’s Office of Film and Television, upset Barefoot Bullseyes Signa Cheney and Curtis Kidwell of Bullseye Disc, who were in fact as barefoot as they advertised. Annual OMPA Classic Raises Money for Media Arts Scholarships with Golf and Croquet

OMPA’s premier event and fundraiser at The Resort at The Mountain on July 11, 2014.

Golf, croquet and a great party are on the table for the Oregon Media Production Association’s annual tournament and fundraiser next Friday, July 11. Mt. Hood serves as the backdrop for this full day of fun, sportsmanship and stewardship of Oregon’s burgeoning media production field. The event is sponsored by production houses and vendors to Oregon’s thriving media production industry, including title sponsor Zarr Studios.
