DIVAs Youth Visions program is pleased to host the 2012 Teen Video Challenge Competition with a screening of entries and winning videos. Each year teens from all over Lane County submit work that is reviewed by a panel of video professionals and educators. Winning videos will be awarded certificates and cash prizes at this years event. This year 16 videos representing a wide range of film themes will be screened and include animation, documentary, music video, and narrative film categories. [LA GRANDE, OR] Putting our feet up after a successful 3rd annual event last October felt really nice. But we’re diving back into it, readying ourselves for another amazing year.
We have decided to move the film festival to a date that can be more accessible to our regional friends and introduce visitors to Eastern Oregon’s awesome winter destination.

Portland Feature Film “Cell Count” has World Premiere and closes the Fantaspoa Film Festival in Porto Alegre Brazil.
PORTLAND, Oregon (March 05, 2012) – The Fantaspoa Film Festival announced today that the Portland feature film “Cell Count,” made by Polluted Pictures in association with Wooden Frame Productions, is the Closing Night Film at their Festival in May. Last year’s Closing Night Film, “Stakeland”, was later released in theaters in 2011 by IFC Films and Dark Sky Films.
Cell Count was the third of three feature films shot in 2011 from Wooden Frame Productions that utilized the Oregon state iOPIF rebate program which provides rebates of 20% of goods and services and 10% of Oregon labor for films produced by Oregon filmmakers who spend a minimum of $75,000 but not more than $750,000 on their project. Portland, Oregon – February 15, 2012 – The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (a.k.a. POWFest) is excited to announce the programming highlights of our upcoming 5th Anniversary festival scheduled to take place March 8 – 11, 2012 at the Hollywood Theatre.
This week the the 35th Portland International Film Festival begins its three week celebration of cinema from all over the globe. The festival begins on Thursday night (February 9) with the film “Salmon Fishing In The Yemen” which was directed by Lasse Hallstrom. For a complete listing of the films and schedule, click here.
Join us at Curious Comedy Theatre every third Sunday of the month for Attack of the Flix – a competition for Portland filmmakers.
All films must be less than 10 minutes long and are submitted on USB thumb drives. We screen nothing beforehand! Admission is free (donation bucket at the door).
