TECHnology Association of OregonThe Technology Association of Oregon, an organization that advocates for the state’s tech companies, and whose vision is to “create a world-class and inclusive innovation economy in Oregon and SW Washington by helping the region’s technology and tech-enabled industries to grow through programs and initiatives that focus on industry promotion, advocacy, professional networks, and talent development” has opened a satellite office in Eugene.

Portland Feature Film “Birds of Neptune” Wins Big at the Arizona International Film Festival!

Portland production Birds of Neptune takes home Best Dramatic Feature at the Arizona International Film Festival, and the Special Jury Award for Best Performance to Britt Harris!   Birds of Neptune written and directed by Steven Richter, produced by Lara Cuddy, stars Britt Harris, Molly Elizabeth Parker and Kurt Conroyd.

Birds of Neptune will screen next at the Mammoth Lakes Film Festival on May 29th.  Director Steven Richter and actors Britt Harris and Molly Elizabeth Parker will be in attendance for a Q&A after the screening. iOPIF to Begin Accepting New Applications May 4th

July 1st will mark the beginning of a new fiscal year and a new round of funding for our film incentive programs. As a result, we are preparing to open up the application process for our “local filmmaker” program, commonly referred to as the Indigenous Oregon Production Investment Fund (iOPIF).

Bent Image Lab‘s “Polariffic” was accepted at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival in the “TV Films in Competition” category.  Congratulations to the Bent team, comprising of, director Rob Shaw, producer Marissa Weisman, writer Allan Neuwirth, Music Composer Charles-Henri Avelange, and BENT Executive Producers Tsui Ling Toomer and Ray Di Carlo.  Annecy International Film Festival takes place June 15th – 20th in Annecy, France.

With their quirky and ultra-stylish Pizza Schmizza social media spot hot off the press, the Revolver DMS (rDMS) team shifted gears/genres and produced a more suspense-based web spot in collaboration with tech B2B marketing agency McClenahan Bruer (McBru).

The original Producer we were working with had resigned from the project for personal reasons, and I requested a couple of bids,” explains McBru Senior Communications Counsel Tarah Hartzler. “We had a script, storyboards and a few actors who fit our needs.

“Wild” Locations Get Recognition At LMGA Awards

Congratulations to Nancy Haecker  (“Wild“),  who, at the second annual Location Managers Guild of America Awards, won for “Outstanding Locations in a Contemporary Film”.  The awards took place at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills on Saturday night.

According to Variety, Haecker read Cheryl Strayed’s memoir, “Wild”, during a flight, and was so enthused that she wanted to scout the film project.   Even though most of the film plays for California, around 60 locations in Oregon were scouted by Haecker; from the high desert in central Oregon, the city of Ashland, Crater Lake, the Portland metro area, to the Bridge of the Gods in the Columbia River Valley Gorge.  Continue reading... ““Wild” Locations Get Recognition At LMGA Awards”
