This morning the 2022 Cannes Film Festival announced its Official Selection. We are excited to see #OregonMade, A24’s “Showing Up” nominated in the main competition group. “Showing Up,” was directed by Kelly Reichardt, written by Reichardt and Oregonian, Jonathan Raymond, and produced by Oregonians, Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani and Vincent Savino (see all cast and crew here).

This is an online event centered on Black, Brown and Indigenous creatives of color while open to the community at large. Join us for conversation around getting started in voiceover work with some talented voiceover artists. Come connect with Jazzy Greene, Susannah Mars, Adrienne Livingston and Josh Millman as they share their voiceover journeys. We hope to inspire upcoming creative and professionals with similar backgrounds.

Now it’s your turn to create a fun colorful look using makeup as the medium and the face as the canvas. Challenge your creativity using lines, circles, and bold colors for this fun Pop Art Makeup look! Bodypaint and beauty artist Linda Wong will be the instructor.
It’s February Encore Screening time. Opening up February 13 for our virtual encore series, this month features Lauren Everett’s short doc THUNDAAR LIVES!, Jen Elkington’s JEAN, Rollyn Stafford’s ZOMBIE WALK, and Kerry O’Neill’s short narrative BEA AT REHAB. The short film block will be available until the end of February.
The encore screening series is a way to share #EOFF2021 short films with our community of friends, filmmakers, and audiences alike as we build out our ‘Friends of the Festival’ catalog and make large steps towards our The Liberty Theatre’s opening and our thirteenth annual program scheduled for OCTOBER 20-22, 2022.

OMPA invites you to join Horror Through An Inclusive Lens. What terrifies you depends on your personal experiences. We’ve teamed up with our friends at Monstrous Femme Films to present a panel of women, non-binary and Black horror filmmakers around how their unique experiences influence their stories. This conversation centers traditionally marginalized horror filmmakers but all are welcome. Event funded in part by the Regional Arts and Culture Council.
You still have time to take part in the City Lights Cinemas and the Siuslaw Public Library District presentation of the “Frank Herbert Dune Celebration,” honoring the historical ties between the Florence dunes and the seminal science fiction classic that influenced a generation of books, music, and films.

This fall the annual St. Helen’s Spirit of Halloweentown festival will transform this small Oregon town into a spooky, family-friendly destination for six weekends beginning September 18 and running through October 31. This year celebrity guest appearances from Ashley Greene, (Alice Cullen) “Twilight” and movie actors J. Paul Zimmerman and Phillip Van Dyke from“Halloweentown” have been added to its abundant offering of family-friendly events.
