New warehouse upstairs accessoy roomThe new Production Department Building for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Talent, OR, completed construction in late October 2013. On November 19th, OSF Costume Rentals started the monumental task of moving their stock of over 50,000 costume pieces from a rented warehouse in Ashland, OR, their home of almost ten years, six miles down the road to their brand new state of the art facility. “Night Moves” Premieres at Venice International Film Festival and Will Screen at Toronto International Film Festival

Director Kelly Reichardt’s (“Wendy and Lucy”, “Meek’s Cutoff”) new film, “Night Moves” will be screening in competition at the Venice International Film Festival (August 28th- September 7th) and will also screen at the Toronto International Film Festival  as a special presentation.

New Thriller “Compound Fracture” Screening at the Hollywood Theatre May 26th

One Night Only (May 26th) Limited Screening of New Thriller COMPOUND FRACTURE with Actor/Producer Tyler Mane (Sabretooth, Michael Myers) in Attendance.

Tyler Mane will personally screen his new film, Compound Fracture, May 26th in Portland, OR at the Hollywood Theatre. This will be one of the“one night only” stops on the Limited Meet & Greet Screening tour in the U.S. and Canada.

Mane, known primarily for his acting career (his credits include, Michael Meyers in Rob Zombie’s Halloween & Halloween II, Troy, The Scorpion King, Joe Dirt, X-Men), co-wrote, produced and co-stars in this new supernatural thriller.

“Animal House of Blues”: has been announced today as an Official Selection of the Eugene International Film Festival October 18th- 21st, 2012. Directed by Jay Richardson, class of 2012; with the help of fellow graduating filmmakers.

Subtitled “How an Oregon Community Helped Create a Hollywood Blockbuster (or Two) On a ‘B’ Drive-In Movie Budget”; this next generation of young Oregon filmmakers, formerly from the University of Oregon, stepped up and optioned, filmed and edited Katherine Wilson’s documentary screenplay, as well as licensed her Oregon Film Factory Movie Museum images and artifacts. Independent Feature, “The A-List” Wraps

We stopped by the set last week on the penultimate day of shooting for “The A-List“, an independent comedy feature  about a high school senior who is “coerced by his guidance counselor into fulfilling a list of all of her high school fantasies in order for him to graduate”.  This is a first feature to be produced for writer D.J. Blue Like Jazz Is Playing In A Theater Near You

Portland Premiere Of “The River Why” To Benefit The River Network

River Network National River Rally (a Portland based national nonprofit since 1998) will kick off with the benefit screening of The River Why on September 9th, 7pm at the Hollywood Theatre.   Actors William Hurt, Zach Gilford (“Friday Night Lights”), Alex Hurt and Producer Kristi Denton Cohen will be on hand before the screening and for a post-film Q&A.

The River Why was shot entirely on location in Oregon and tells the story of 20 year old fly-fishing prodigy, Gus Orviston (Zach Gilford), who, in an act of rebellion, shuns his prior life and family for what he thinks will be a secluded existence of fly fishing heaven on the banks of a beautiful river. In Italy, the idea of American cinema is tightly connected with Hollywood and sensationalist movies where the hero is always handsome and honest and the audience knows that.  By the end of the movie, he will defeat all his enemies who, of course, are ugly and bad.
