New director, Clare McKay graduated with a bachelors in Communications Media from a University in San Diego County and moved back to her home in Juntura, Oregon to pursue her dream as a filmmaker. Though Oregon seemed an unlikely area for making movies she understood the basic idea behind “supply and demand”. Disney’s first look trailer is now out showcasing their latest feature, shot partly in the Portland Metro area last year, “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made.” The film will begin streaming on Disney + February 7th. Timmy and his polar-bear partner, Total, start a detective agency to solve neighborhood crime – adapted from the children’s best selling series written by Stephan Pastis.

#OregonMade “The Mortuary Collection” – Special Screening in Astoria to Benefit Historical Society

The #OregonMade feature film THE MORTUARY COLLECTION will screen prior to its release in the city where was originally shot, Astoria, OR. The screening is free, but a $5 donation is suggested to help The Clatsop County Historic Society – owners of the Flavel House, one of the main locations for the film.
THE DETAILS:
The screening will be held the evening of January 4th, 2020 at The Liberty Theater (1203 Commercial St.  Astoria, OR 97103)
Doors will open at: 6PM
Screening will start at: 7PM

The day before Halloween brings the next installment of the #OregonMade Film Series at The Hollywood Theatre, and it’s gonna be a good one. Dark Horse Entertainment’s 1992 film: “Dr. Giggles.”

Larry Drake plays the eponymous title character as the crazy son of a crazy heart surgeon who seeks revenge on the small town that killed his dad. Dr. Giggles doesn’t discriminate, and kills teenagers, cops, old lady busybodies, and anyone else who gets in his way.

Portland Dance Film Fest is excited to partner with NW Film Center to provide a screen and an audience for artists who are making relevant and inspired dance for film from around the world. This year’s festival will include 20 dance film shorts, four dance mini documentaries, & the Oregon Dance Film Commission.

The only complete festival experience dedicated entirely to Oregon films and filmmakers, KIFF continues to be the only place to fully experience Oregon independent film.

Nestled in the high desert, alpine mountain community of Klamath Falls in Southern Oregon this year’s KIFF kicks off with an opening night street party outside the Ross Ragland Theater, joined by filmmakers, sponsors and other VIPs along with live music, a selection of beverages and food trucks. The street party will be followed by an introduction to the festival and opening night feature “Phoenix, Oregon” which was filmed on location in Klamath Falls in 2018.
