#EOFF2019 : Ten Years Of Cinema And Celebration

Eastern Oregon Film Festival will celebrate its TENTH annual three-day event October 24-26 in La Grande, Oregon.

LA GRANDE – Festival-goers will be taken on a journey with this year’s film program. Opening night explores Milena Pastreich’s PIGEON KINGS, which documents a group of men in South Central LA who train pigeons for the competitive sport of Avian Acrobatics. Also screening is Taryn Southern and Elena Gaby’s sci-fi documentary exploring the co-evolution of humans and technology in I AM HUMAN.

In fact, Oregon is the number one U.S. producer of; blackberries, hazelnuts, peppermint, cranberries, rhubarb, grass seed, florist azaleas and Christmas trees.

Portland Dance Film Fest is excited to partner with NW Film Center to provide a screen and an audience for artists who are making relevant and inspired dance for film from around the world. This year’s festival will include 20 dance film shorts, four dance mini documentaries, & the Oregon Dance Film Commission.

The ODFC is a grant and platform for selected local artists to create a dance film culminating in a world premiere during the 2019 festival.

Eastern Oregon Film Festival is delighted to announce the official film selections for the TENTH annual three-day event held October 24-26 in La Grande, Oregon.

EOFF’s programming staff received a record number of submitted films this year spanning a wide variety of themes, genres and formats. Festival-goers will be taken on a journey through works like Milena Pastreich’s PIGEON KINGS, which documents the men in South Central LA who train pigeons for the competitive sport of avian acrobatics, and into Taryn Southern and Elena Gaby’s sci-fi documentary exploring the co-evolution of humans and technology in I AM HUMAN, and back again with Adam Khalil and Bayley Sweitzer’s haunting and inspiringly imaginative EMPTY METAL.

“First Cow” In Main Progam At The 46th Telluride Film Festival

The 46th Telluride Film Festival line up included in its main program the #OregonMade feature, “First Cow.” The film is directed by Kelly Reichardt, based upon the novel by Jonathan Raymond (and written by Raymond and Reichardt) and produced by Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani and Vincent Savino. Many on the production team have worked together on other #OregonMade projects such as; “Wendy and Lucy,” “Night Moves” and “Meek’s Cutoff” among others.

The Telluride Film Festival is a “celebration of artistic excellence brings together cinema enthusiasts, filmmakers and artists to discover the best in world cinema in the beautiful mountain town of Telluride, Colorado.”

The Portland Circuit is Looking For its Next Project

The #OregonMade Creative Foundation has teamed up with four of the best independent cinemas located in all four of the quadrants of Portland, Northwest Film Center, The Hollywood Theatre, Clinton Street Theatre and Cinema 21, to enact a program designed to give locally produced, #OregonMade feature length films a short theatrical distribution window in the city. Screenings will consist of a four day run, with one night at each theatre, in the four “quadrants” of Portland: The Portland Circuit.
