#OregonMade “Lorelei” Opens Today!

Lorelei” stars Pablo Schreiber (Den of Thieves, Orange is the New Black, The Wire) and Jena Malone (The Hunger Games, The Neon Demon, Inherent Vice), along with a cast of local actors cast by Simon Max Hill, including Amelia Borgerding, Parker Pascoe-Sheppard and Chancellor Perry (three upcoming child actors) who make their acting debuts in the movie. The Oregon Confluence featured Perry last year about his experience on the film.

Union & Guilds Update the “Return to Work” Agreement

While it’s true that new COVID cases are increasing in all 50 states and a focus on caution and safety must still be at the forefront of all productions’ planning, SAG-AFTRA, the Directors Guild of America, International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the Basic Crafts, together with the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers updated their return-to-work safety protocols.

Last Monday, they reached and released an updated agreement. Relying on facts and data, and guided by science, the agreement extends the protocols until Sept.

Hinge Digital & CMD Team Up To Create Charming Alpenrose Commercial

Hinge Digutal and CMD teamed up to create a charming stop-motion style CG animated campaign, Keep Portland Small, for Alpenrose’s new home delivery service. The spot tells the story of the Alpenrose Dairy and its milk deliveries, starting with their beginning in 1916, and the growth of the once-little town of Portland, Oregon. A miniature world builds and grows in front of our eyes, bringing to life the relationships between the delivery people and their communities, as well as the ups and downs of living in a growing city.

The #OregonMade feature film “The Water Man” plays at NW Film Center’s Cinema Unbound Drive-In on July 30.

Gunner (Lonnie Chavis) sets out on a quest to save his ill mother (Rosario Dawson) by searching for a mythic figure who possesses the secret to immortality, the Water Man. After enlisting the help of a mysterious local girl, Jo (Amiah Miller), they journey together into the remote Wild Horse forest — but the deeper they venture, the stranger and more dangerous the forest becomes.

Oregon OSHA Adopts New Standards for Heat & Wildfires

Oregon OSHA has adopted new standards for Heat and Wildfires. Unions and Guilds of the Oregon AFL-CIO have been discussing these standards since last year’s wildfires. With the recent heat wave costing the lives of over 200 people in the PNW these standards could not be more timely.

Below is a brief description quoted from the article in the Oregonian with links to the new standards. Please read through, promote to your crews, and follow these standards on your productions.

Oregon will require employers to provide workers with cool-down breaks and better access to shade and cool water on hot days under new emergency workplace rules adopted Thursday.

#OregonMade Feature Film “Lorelei” Opens in Theatres on July 30

After successful screenings at both Tribeca and the Portland International Film Festival, amongst others, the #OregonMade feature film “Lorelei” opens in select theatres later this month. The film stars Jenna Malone and Pablo Schreiber and it presents a moving look at family, love and a reconnection with community.

#OregonMade Film Series Resumes with “Point Break”

We’re back and we’re picking up right where we left off in the Spring of 2020 with a screening of our favorite Oregon surf movie – Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 thriller “Point Break” at the Hollywood Theatre on August 18 at 7p.

Granted, there are limited scenes that Oregon can claim as their own, but if we didn’t get excited about downtown Wheeler and Indian Beach at Ecola SP we wouldn’t be doing our job. So come celebrate the Ex-Presidents and their quest to finance an Endless Summer.

“Any Oregon Sunday” – 3 Oregon Womens’ Extreme Motocross Adventures!

The winners of the third annual Outdoor Adventure Film Grant – “Oregon’s Outdoors Are For Everyone” – recently presented their winning project “Any Oregon Sunday.”

The Winning Team: Kanani Koster, Janie Faison, and Tiffany Lindquist – all based in Portland, OR, and dedicated to telling “diverse and authentic stories that are created by a majority of women and POC-identifying locally-sourced cast and crew” put together this inspiring and uplifting documentary project portraying Adventure MotorSports in Oregon, specifically told through the lens of diverse women riders.
