Application Open for OCF’s Small Arts & Culture Grants

Oregon Community Foundation’s Small Arts & Culture Grants Program is now accepting applications!

Could your organization use some support to advance your mission? Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) seeks applications from arts and culture nonprofit organizations with budgets under $100,000. One-year grants of $1,000 to $5,000 for general operating support will be awarded across the state with $350,000 in total grant funding available annually.

Review the eligibility guidelines in the Request for Proposals to see if this opportunity might be a good fit for your organization.

Biggest Recovery Film Festival In The PNW Happening October 1st!

Bridges to Change is hosting its 3rd annual PDX Recovery Film Festival on October 1st at Revolution Hall in Portland, OR! This annual event showcases winning short films submitted from across the United States and United Kingdom to promote awareness of addictions, mental health issues and homelessness in a creative and impactful way. Bridges to Change hosts this event to support its mission to provide housing to those who need it most, support recovery through the lens of lived experience, promote wellbeing through behavioral health services, and advocate for those who systems have ignored.

WIF PDX Vision Grant Open For Applications

In their ongoing commitment to empowering local filmmakers, Women in Film PDX is increasing the grant amount to $10,000 for this year’s recipient (previously at $5,000).

The Vision Grant, now in its 11th year, has been a cornerstone of Women in Film PDX’s mission to foster creativity, innovation, and inclusivity within the film community. The grant is designed to provide financial support to emerging female and nonbinary filmmakers in the Portland Metro area, enabling them to bring their unique visions to the screen and contribute their diverse voices to the world of cinema.

Oregon OPIF Tax Credit Auction will be held Sept 18-22, 2023

Become a part of iconic #OregonMade productions and help create jobs and marketing value for Oregon.

Oregon’s Film, Television and media tax incentives are funded through an annual auction which creates the Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF). This annual tax credit auction will take place starting at 9a on Monday, September 18, 2023 and run for 5 days until 5p on Friday, September 22, 2023.

$20M of Oregon state tax credits will be available to purchase in $500 increments by auction at a minimum bid of 90% of face value.

BLAME IT ON ART: Creative Mentorship Exhibit from Outside the Frame

If youth experiencing houselessness can make films, they can do anything. At Outside the Frame (OTFPDX.org) we believe that creative collaboration is an essential ingredients for healing, growth, and empowerment. Our professional and peer mentors take the work of making art both seriously and playfully with those with those we support and in our own art practices.

Mentors are the lifeblood of Outside the Frame. Come see an exhibit dedicated to their work and impact.<

BendFilm Launches BIPOC Women Production Film Grant

On-screen representation affects cultural understanding of BIPOC, women, and LGBTQ+ characters. Barriers need to be broken down until equal representation is achieved on-screen and behind the camera.

BendFilm’s Grant will support a BIPOC women artist with $20,000 toward making their short or feature film. The grant supports storytellers who are working to tell creative and complex stories told from a point of view that is unique and authentic.

Filmmakers who have been underrepresented are less likely to have the funding support to produce their first films to jumpstart their careers.

PassinArt Theatre: Pacific Northwest Multi Cultural Readers Series & Film Festival

PassinArt Theatre is having their second biennial Pacific Northwest Multicultural Readers Series & Film Festival Thursday – Sunday, August 17-20, 2023 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Portland, Oregon.

The festival will be a jam-packed, four-day whirlwind of wall-to-wall readings, screenings, masterclasses and panel discussions addressing the issues of the day as they shape theaters of color, television, and film.
