“Little Leaks” a Big Deal for Local Animation Company

CMD and Hinge Digital teamed up to deliver a fun, informative and engaging campaign for NW Natural. “Little Leaks” was conceived as a collaboration between CMD and the Hinge creative team. Hinge created four unique 3D egg characters. The eggs are lighthearted and fun visual storytellers in a spot that educates viewers on how to recognize and react to a gas leak. Tickets for the NW Animation Festival On Sale Now

The NW Animation Fest is coming up
May 17-19 @ The Hollywood Theatre
in Portland, OR.

The NW Animation Fest is a variety show that celebrates the best new work from independent animators around the globe. This is the festival’s biggest year yet.  And with “over 150 hilarious, dramatic, strange and inspiring films” screening over the course of the 3-day event, it’s now “the biggest animation show in the USA.”  The Oregon Governor’s Office of Film & Television is proud to be sponsoring the opening night of the festival, Friday May 17. NW Animation Festival offers FREE entry until Nov 30

The Northwest Animation Festival is accepting submissions for 2013.

The final deadline is Jan 31. Entry is FREE if films are received by Nov 30.

The festival will take place on May 17-19 in Portland, Oregon. Organizers expect to screen 125+ films this year — making this the second largest showcase of animated shorts in the the USA.

Portland Digital eXperience Showcases Local Animation Talent


Portland has a reputation for creating world-class animation.  Whether we’re making feature films or iconic commercials, using traditional stop-motion, CG or state of the art VFX, Portland is a hub for animation within the entertainment industry.

But what exactly do we mean when we refer to “animation”?  Beyond movies and television, animation plays an increasing role in education, business solutions and interactive experiences of all kinds.  Animation creates movement; it brings ideas to life.

This coming Sunday, April 29th, the Dill Pickle Club hosts the second installment of A Place Called Home: Lectures on Filmmaking in Portland, a monthly lecture series focused on the history of movie-making in the city, at the Hollywood Theater with guest animators Rose Bond, Joan Gratz and Joanna Priestley.
