At last there is news about the premiere of “Portlandia” in Portland! See below or click on the image for more information. It’s gonna be a great party!

Film Action Oregon/Hollywood Theatre (FAO)
Tickets are now on sale for Friday, January 14th’s premiere of the new IFC television show PORTLANDIA.
The festivity begins at the Hollywood Theatre at 7:30pm, with emcee Mikey Kampmann and comic Ian Karmel, followed by two episodes of PORTLANDIA’s “dreamy and absurd rendering of Portland, Oregon” a week before it premieres on IFC.
……… then this year’s 48 Hour Go Green project is inviting filmmakers to SPEAK UP AND CREATE!
Simultaneously, on February 18th, 2011, in cities around the world , 48 Hour Go Green kicks off. Teams will be given a brief and then have only 48 hours to get their films written, shot, edited and through post (you can secure equipment, actors and choose team members ahead of time but must register prior to the kickoff) before finally submitting for competition. The early bird special expires January 19th.
In December “Live Wire Radio” had Carrie Brownstein on the show and did a fun sketch about “Portlandia”. The full broadcast will air on OPB January 15 and available the day after via podcast.

Recently IFC smartly put this video up on YouTube from the show. “The Dream of the 90’s is alive in Portland” on the surface seems to make fun of a lot of unique things that exist in Portland.
Come out and celebrate the passing of an incredible 2010 and to ring in an even better 2011. Portland film is on the verge of doing some incredible things and we want to celebrate! Music, drinks, and entertainment will be on hand all night long.
We will also be presenting sneak peeks of our current features “The Weather Outside” and “Cell Count.” Make sure you come out to see them because they will not be online nor screened again. A special screening for all those who can make it out to the celebration.
I went to the recent “Live Wire Radio” show which plays on OPB on Saturday Nights. They recorded two shows – one that will air on Christmas Night and one that will air in January. The January show features Carrie Brownstein and Gus Van Sant (as well as a good skit with Carrie about “Portlandia”). The Christmas show featured singer/songwriter Thao Nguyen who played this song that night. It brought the house down. A gift card Christmas – a true 21st century Christmas song.
Last Friday our office presented some important information regarding the Oregon Production Investment Fund and the Greenlight Oregon Labor Rebate and those programs’ performance over the last few years. I feel it’s best to share that information on our blog at this point so you all can have a place to find the presented information.
