“Little Leaks” a Big Deal for Local Animation Company

CMD and Hinge Digital teamed up to deliver a fun, informative and engaging campaign for NW Natural. “Little Leaks” was conceived as a collaboration between CMD and the Hinge creative team. Hinge created four unique 3D egg characters. The eggs are lighthearted and fun visual storytellers in a spot that educates viewers on how to recognize and react to a gas leak.

“Night Moves” Premieres at Venice International Film Festival and Will Screen at Toronto International Film Festival

Director Kelly Reichardt’s (“Wendy and Lucy”, “Meek’s Cutoff”) new film, “Night Moves” will be screening in competition at the Venice International Film Festival (August 28th- September 7th) and will also screen at the Toronto International Film Festival  as a special presentation.

Call for Entries: McMinnville Short Film Festival

The 3rd Annual McMinnville Short Film Festival is scheduled for Sunday, October 6, at 7:00 PM at the Gallery Theater in McMinnville. The deadline to enter a film is September 16, 2013. There is a $20 entry fee per film but no limit to the number of films a filmmaker can submit. The fee raises money for Habitat for Humanity, and helps offset the cost of holding the festival. Each category will offer a $100 top prize to the winner!

Reality Check Brings Time Travel to Portland

There is no future in time travel…when your future is safe with us.

Have you ever considered that you might be dreaming? Your past and present echoes between your blinking eyes…

From Portland, Oregon, a local group of filmmakers have come together to launch a kickstarter campaign for, “Reality Check,” a science fiction short film about an insurance company with a monopoly on time travel.  Writer/Director CHRIS BUCHAL, and his crew have worked for over a year in pre-production to bring this vision to life.

“Portlandia” Nominated for Two Emmys

It’s exciting to see IFC’s season 3 “Portlandia” sketch comedy show nominated once again for two Emmys for “Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series” (writers, Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein, Jonathan Krisel and Bill Oakley) and “Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series” (Jonathan Krisel).  Oregonian reporter, Kristi Turnquist’s report is here.  The 65th Emmys award show takes place at CBS, Sunday September 22nd.

The Impact of Oregon Film

Hi All– I’m the new intern here at the Governor’s Office of Film & Television.  I love all things film and Oregon, as well as baking and studying communication theory.  If you want to talk about the entertainment industry, I’m practically a walking IMDb.

The world premieres of all the short films are August 7 & 8 at The Hollywood Theatre.

AND, on August 21, we will present “The Best of Portland”.  This screening will showcase the creme de la creme of this year’s PDX 48HFP.

In case you are unfamiliar with the PDX 48HFP, On Friday, August 2nd, teams of filmmakers will draw their genre from The Cruel Hat of Fate, and each team will be assigned the Character, Prop, and Line of Dialogue for this year.
