There will be a special hometown screening of #OregonMade “Getting LOST” at Art House Cinema in Eugene on Saturday, November 16.

“Getting LOST” is the definitive retrospective documentary on the television show LOST and its lasting impact on the people who made it and the fan community. It explores life-changing personal stories touched by LOST, including incredible friendships and heartwarming love stories, touching tales of heartache and loss, and the influence the show had on the television landscape and the careers of some of the biggest names in Hollywood.

LAIKA, the Visit Downtown Campaign, Wild in Art, and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital all joined forces to bring Coraline’s Curious Cat Trail to the Rose City this summer. Selectively chosen artists hand painted each one of the 31 almost six-foot-tall cat sculptures that were stationed throughout Downtown Portland. The trail corresponded with the release of LAIKA’s remastered, Oregon made 3D stop-motion feature “Coraline” in celebration of the movie’s 15th anniversary.

Reel Ambitions: Films by youth who have experienced homelessness

The November 7th celebration will feature our best work yet (again), which we couldn’t do without your support!

The lineup includes “American Teenager,” a slice of life drama about a girl living in a motel and “The Spot,” a comedy about young people crammed into their first apartment. Reel Ambitions will also premiere “My Shoes,” a music video by OTF alumnus Talilo Marfil featuring legendary indie rapper Tech N9ne.

Left Coast Comedy is seeking short comedic scripts for its scriptwriting contest. Short comedic scripts will be judged by a panel of Award-winning and Produced Writers and other working professionals in the film industry including SAG-AFTRA Actors, Agents, Managers, Casting Directors, Directors, Director of Photographers, Assistant Directors, and Producers.

The Top (4) scripts, the “Official Selections” will be read by SAG-AFTRA Actors and professional Pacific Northwest Actors before a ‘live’ audience at the McMenamins Kennedy School in their very comfy, 200-seat movie theater on Thursday, November 7, 2024.
