CITIZENFOUR is a real life thriller, unfolding by the minute, giving audiences unprecedented access to filmmaker Laura Poitras and journalist Glenn Greenwald’s encounters with Edward Snowden in Hong Kong, as he hands over classified documents providing evidence of mass indiscriminate and illegal invasions of privacy by the National Security Agency (NSA).
Following on from our successful screening of “Wild” at the Salem Cinema last December, we are pleased to be starting a new series of free screenings in Salem made by, or featuring, Oregon filmmakers and subjects which we are calling Oregon Film[Makers].

At Oscars 2015 the 87th Academy Awards Witherspoon was nominated for Best Actress in “Wild”, and Dern for Best Supporting Actress, and Laika’s the “The Boxtrolls” for Best Animated Feature. Brian Lindstrom’s new film “Mothering Inside” follows inmate moms and their children in the Family Preservation Project at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility in Wilsonville. It shows at Cinema 21 in NW Portland on this Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7p.

IFP is currently seeking first-time filmmakers with features in post-production (rough assembly through fine cut) for this year’s Independent Filmmaker Labs. Deadlines to submit are March 6 for the Documentary Labs and April 3 for the Narrative Labs.
