#OregonMade “Strange Darling” in Theatres August 23

Magenta Light Studios will be giving Strange Darling a wide theatrical release in the United States on August 23rd – and a new trailer for the film has arrived online, along with a pair of posters.

Shot in Oregon last year, “Strange Darling” was written and directed by J.T. Mollner (Outlaws and Angels) and was produced by former Miramax CEO Bill Block, Chris Ivan Cevic, Steven Schneider, Roy Lee, and actor Giovanni Ribisi, who also served as the director of photography. “Fogtown” Puppet TV Pilot and Videogame to Premiere August 22nd

A new comedic mystery TV series and video game are afoot, each designed to humor, surprise, and rouse mystery fans of all age groups.

The highly anticipated pilot episode of Sherlock Holmes-esque FOGTOWN© premieres 7:00 pm, Thursday August 22nd at a special event in Portland, Ore. hosted by PAMCUT at The Tomorrow Theater. Cast and creators will also take the stage then to describe FOGTOWN’s decade-long journey — from its incarnation to pandemic-influenced transformation along with its breakthrough foray into the gaming world, the latter of which eager attendees of the event will get to experience firsthand. Oregon Film and the #OregonMade Creative Foundation are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Tell Your Story Grant. This grant program seeks to directly support the individual filmmaker and artist and is not directly linked to a specific project. The TYSG seeks to help early and mid-career creators get to the next step of their career and ensure that career continues to develop in Oregon by providing funding that can be used by the recipient in a more flexible manner. The Week A Dream Came True – Traveling On The Oregon Film Trail!

Being a huge 80’s movie fan – especially “The Goonies” and “Stand By Me” – it has long been a dream of mine to take a trip to Oregon and visit the towns of Astoria and Brownsville where some of my favorite movie scenes were filmed, and this year, after a lot of planning, that dream finally came true. After a nine-and-a-half-hour flight from London to Seattle, then a two-and-a-half-hour drive from Seattle we finally arrived in Astoria and were greeted by our first Airbnb host, Judith. It’s that time of year again. Here’s an update on the work we’ve been doing.

Oregon Film, sometimes called the Oregon Film & Video Office other times called the Governor’s Office of Film & Television, is the oldest US state film commission that we know of. Founded in 1968 our mission is to develop, grow and support the film and media industry here in Oregon.

“Let’s Have Kids” Announces Cast

The Hollywood Reporter announced that Karen Gillian and Zoë Chao will star in Let’s Have Kids!, a comedy from MRC.

Adam Sztykiel, the screenwriter of DC movie Black Adam who previously tackled the topic of giving birth with Due Date, will make his directorial debut.
