PORTLAND, Ore — DATE — The Oregon Governor’s Office of Film and Television and PIE (Portland Incubator Experiment) have partnered to launch Oregon Story Board, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education, support, and promotion of digital media production throughout Oregon. This media release just came out about the next installment of Bent Image Lab’s holiday specials. You’ll remember that last year Bent produced the original “Jingle All the Way” and this year they have already produced Hallmark’s “Hoops and Yo Yo” Halloween special. This marks their third project with the Hallmark Channel.

The Northwest Animation Festival is accepting submissions for 2013.
The final deadline is Jan 31. Entry is FREE if films are received by Nov 30.
The festival will take place on May 17-19 in Portland, Oregon. Organizers expect to screen 125+ films this year — making this the second largest showcase of animated shorts in the the USA.

The studio expanded their core team with animation, design and production talent sourced from the animation mecca of Portland, as well as from the Bay Area and LA. They designed, developed and animated original 3D spokes-characters, “Blue” and “Goldie,”along with “Squirrel,” which are now prominently featured in Carrington’s broadcast, print, online, and social media campaigns, and will soon be available as toys and other collectibles at the college’s book stores.

After two plus years hand crafting frame by frame, Oregon based animation studio LAIKA is set to debut their second film “ParaNorman” in theaters this coming Friday. We at the Oregon Film Office will be at the Regal Lloyd Center theaters with a block of tickets to celebrate the release. In fact we hope to see you there at 11:50 AM for the first showing! An opening weekend of any feature film often determines the financial success of the film so let’s all find a way to make it to a nearby theater and see this great Oregon Film.
