(Eugene, OR.) Eugene’s Downtown Initiative for the Visual Arts (DIVA) announces its tenth annual OpenLens Short Film Competition. This event provides an opportunity for Oregon resident filmmakers to showcase their short films of 15 minutes or less in a competitive event. “SHIVER” is now set for a one week run at the Living Room Theatre in Portland, OR commencing on September 20th. There will be a Special Event Premiere of the film at the theatre on September 19th.
The first-of-its-kind iOS app Phrenic has launched version 2.0 with a new episode, short story, and now uses Theatrics to allow anyone to become part of the story by creating their own character and submitting a video that will show up in the app and online. The new design also makes it easier to jump between the mobile games, episodes, and stories that all take place in Phrenic’s world of insanity, cloning, and murder.

Polluted Pictures is now accepting online submissions for their most current project which is currently “Untitled.” We are shooting this project in accordance with the SAG SHORT FILM guidelines with deferred pay. This film is being produced as a “proof of concept” for a feature film shooting later this year. Our previous three feature films were financed through similar “proof of concept” pieces.
