Simultaneously, on February 18th, 2011, in cities around the world , 48 Hour Go Green kicks off. Teams will be given a brief and then have only 48 hours to get their films written, shot, edited and through post (you can secure equipment, actors and choose team members ahead of time but must register prior to the kickoff) before finally submitting for competition. On January 14th, we will be having a premier and charity event in conjunction with the new IFC television series Portlandia.
I found this article in the Sunday New York Times about the upcoming IFC show “Portlandia”. The show is not only proving to be one that the media is interested in covering (it’s been in Entertainment Weekly and many local pubs) but it’s managed to stir up some interesting debate.

Attending our Annual Meeting was Governor Kulongoski, members of the Governor’s Office of Film & Television Board, as well nominees for the annual awards and a large audience of industry professionals at the newly rennovated Lincoln Performance Hall at PSU on Friday evening. PSU‘s technical team made it possible to catch up on industry happenings in Ashland, Bend and Eugene via live broadcast by teleconference bridge.
With our Annual Meeting a little over a week away, things are coming together and I know it’s going to be a great night! As for the annual meeting here is the date and time:

There will be a statewide teleconference so if you live in or nearby Ashland, Bend, Eugene, or Portland, you can attend. It’s open to the public.

The Oregon Media Production Association (OMPA) announces its annual winter holiday party for commercial, film and television industry professionals on Friday, December 17th, 2010 from 8 pm to 11 pm at Portland City Hall. Hundreds of guests including government leaders, producers, artists, actors, crew, agents and vendors – a who’s who in Oregon’s biz – are scheduled to attend. This year’s meeting will once again be a state-wide teleconference event thanks to the support of our friends in Bend, Eugene, and Ashland. The Portland location for the meeting will be Portland State University’s Lincoln Hall.
