Now Accepting Submissions! The Eastern Oregon Film Festival is slated for October 20, 21, & 22 this year, right here in downtown La Grande, Oregon. If you missed last year’s event, or only got a small taste, be on the up and up to get info on participation in this years festival.
Eastern Oregon Film Festival has just launched a new website and are now accepting submission for films. Early bird-discount runs through the 16th so get you final cut wrapped up and get your film submitted.

Following the successful effort to create a voice for the Oregon Film and Television community in this blog, we recently convened a group of Oregon animation and visual effects professionals that we know, and asked them how a site dedicated to their segment of the industry might be received. After lots of lively conversation and great ideas, it became clear that there was great interest, and that it would be very helpful for drawing attention to the fact that Oregon has more than just great locations, amazing acting and crew talent, and not to mention, a terrific film incentive program. 2011 Daytime Emmy nominee Kerry Herta leads makeup artist workshops in Portland June 1-6.
Kerry Herta, the founder of Colour Box Makeup Studios who will be teaching a pair of upcoming artist workshops in Portland, has been nominated for a 2011 Daytime Emmy Award.
Herta, along with her team, was nominated for her work as Makeup Department Head during All My Children’s conversion to the HD format in early 2010.
Local comedy “John Gets Wasted” will debut at the Hollywood Theatre on May 28th at 7:00pm. The movie follows the story of a man who lost his job in the recession. Deciding his straight-laced behavior did him no good at all, John launches on a journey of vice and bad decisions. At the end of the day, will he find a new outlook on life, or will he just get wasted?

The festival was created to showcase new or existing collaborations between musicians and filmmakers, exploring how the moving image informs musical performance and vice versa.
