Girlscout Locations is headed by native Portlander, Sara Burton who has over 25 years location experience in Portland. She began her career with Gus Van Sant’s “My Own Private Idaho”, followed up with a decade of studio feature work in Los Angeles and now 18 years in Portland has set up to exclusively serve advertising and commercial productions. Girlscout Locations has a team of consultants who work seamlessly with clients having access to the GSL massive location library, long time permitting relationships, and regional contacts to find every “needle in the haystack.”

Together with award-winning animation studio ShadowMachine, the #OregonMade Creative Foundation has just launched a unique paid apprenticeship program focusing on hands-on, stop-motion animation production work.
ShadowMachine is about to go into production on a stop-motion series and we have worked together to create two, three month, paid apprenticeship positions on the project.

MovieMaker Magazine has annouced their “Best Places to Live and Work as a moviemaker” with Portland coming in at #11 in the “Big Cities” category, and Ashland at #5 in the “Small Cities” category. Ashalnd was beaten out by New Orleans, Savannah, Santa Fe, and Pittsburg, and Portland by Atlanta, Vancouver (BC), Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Albuquerque, Boston, Toronto, Austin and Montreal.
