The Oregonian/OregonLive Wins 2 Regional Emmys With Polar Bear Doc

The Oregonion/Oregon Live’s, Kale Williams, won a Reporting Emmy over the week end for his documentary film, “Thin Ice: A Polar Bear’s Plight” and Dave Killen received the Regional Emmy for direction of the film.  The doc was part of the bigger, Project Nora, that the Oregonian and Oregon Live have been reporting on since Nora was abandoned by her mother.

Lower Boom Launches New Discovery App

Last Monday, Portland-based Lower Boom unveiled the prototype for the Lower Boom Discovery app during happy hour at Dig a Pony.

Filmmakers, many of whom have been featured in the Lower Boom Presents programming exclusively showing at the Hotel Eastlund, were able to download it and do a hands-on walk through of the functionality and design.

Fastlife: An Oregon Family and Racing Documentary Series

 

A local auto dealer and his filmmaker wife have launched a documentary series on the international stage of Amazon Prime available for streaming now.

Derek DeBoer, an Oregon auto dealer, and his wife Brooke, a Southern Oregon Filmmaker teamed up in 2014 to create Fastlife, a show about a family striving to live their dreams amidst all the realities of every day life.

In 2015, the animation production house, ShadowMachine, opened a satellite studio in Portland. Since then, they’ve produced multiple projects. Most recently, they have worked in collaboration with the WWE to create“Dallas and Robo,” a cartoon that was just released on YouTube Red. Often we get asked how we got into the luxury restroom trailers business. Well, they say that ‘necessity is the mother of invention’, and that was certainly true in our case. Back in 2011 when I was planning my outdoor wedding and checking into outdoor restroom options, I found there weren’t really options beyond smelly construction Porta-the founders of Luxury Restroom TrailersPotties. When the wedding was over, we resolved to change that.

Northwest Filmmaker Lynn Shelton’s Latest Film Opens In Portland & Vancouver April 6

 

Fresh from SxSW, OUTSIDE IN is Lynn Shelton’s latest project. It was shot in Granite Falls, Washington, and stars Edie Falco and Jay Duplass.

OUTSIDE IN opens April 6 at Cinema 21 in Portland and Kiggins Theater in Vancouver. Lynn will be there for Q&As on April 7!

After serving 20 years for the crime of essentially being in the wrong place at the wrong time, 38-year-old Chris (played by co-writer Jay Duplass, TRANSPARENT, LANDLINE) is granted early parole thanks largely to the tireless advocacy of Carol (award winner Edie Falco, NURSE JACKIE, THE SOPRANOS), his former high-school teacher.
