The series is called “The Fairfield Boys” and we are bringing the great American western to Oregon!

Our Story:

In the backwoods of the old west, two brother outlaws (The Fairfield Boys), are hunted by a skilled bounty hunter out for his own kind of justice. Inescapably the brother’s lives are intertwined with two unsuspecting runaways, changing all of their lives forever. Legendary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman is Oregon Doc Camp’s 2020 Keynote Speaker

Oregon Doc Camp, a program of NW Documentary, gathers established and emerging documentary filmmakers at Silver Falls State Park for a four day retreat. The program attracts accomplished speakers from around the country, including last year’s keynote, Laura Nix, whose short documentary ​Walk, Run, Cha Cha was nominated for a 2020 Academy Award. This year NW Documentary welcomes the legendary documentary filmmaker Frederick Wiseman.

Winter Season Grant – “Wish You Were Here” – Blue Chalk Media

Blue Chalk Media were the winners the 2019 $15,000 “Winter Season Grant” – provided by the OregonMade Creative Foundation and Travel Oregon – and have now successfully created two short films of “moving postcard stories” based on the brief to make a film series that would “captivate and encourage people to experience the winter season for themselves.”

New Doc in the Works, “Learn No Evil: Catlin Gabel’s #MeToo Reckoning”

Learn No Evil is an upcoming documentary about a #MeToo reckoning for one of Oregon’s most prestigious schools. In this explosive, and still-unfolding story, former students uncover decades of teacher abuse at Catlin Gabel.

Since my initial posts about the inappropriate conduct I experienced at Catlin Gabel, there’s been a perpetual flow of victims coming forward. The severity of offense ranges from disturbing and gross, to shocking and horrific. There was physical abuse, emotional abuse, molestation, rape and even incest – all at the hands of TEACHERS, some of whom were seen (by many) as God-like at the school. Spotlight On Scott Vanderpool – Welding Design & Fabrication Specialist

Scott Vanderpool, welding design and fabrication specialist for Portland Parks & Recreation and owner of Iron Stone Forge, LLC, has been designing and fabricating for business and pleasure in Portland for many years.  “I prefer to do artwork and technical/precision fabrications but I bring the artistic side whenever I can. Academy-qualified SOLE DOCTOR Is Now Available At Amazon Prime

Coming off a successful festival run that included screenings at BendFilm Festival, Portland International Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest and Napa Valley Film Festival, SOLE DOCTOR, directed by Portland filmmaker and journalist Paula Bernstein, is now available on Amazon Prime.

#OregonMade Team Created Netflix’s “Fire In Paradise” Doc

Fire in Paradise“, the Netflix documentary chronicling the recent (2018) Camp Fire in northern California that killed 85 people, was produced by Gary Kout, based in Ashland, OR. The film was directed by Drea Cooper and Zackary Canapari, for whom Gary has produced many commercial and documentary projects including the award-winning feature doc “T-Rex” and the acclaimed Netflix doc series “Flintown“.

#OregonMade “Dr. Giggles” Halloween Screening

The day before Halloween brings the next installment of the #OregonMade Film Series at The Hollywood Theatre, and it’s gonna be a good one. Dark Horse Entertainment’s 1992 film: “Dr. Giggles.”

Larry Drake plays the eponymous title character as the crazy son of a crazy heart surgeon who seeks revenge on the small town that killed his dad. Dr. Giggles doesn’t discriminate, and kills teenagers, cops, old lady busybodies, and anyone else who gets in his way.
