This is an online event centered on Black, Brown and Indigenous creatives of color while open to the community at large. Join us for conversation around getting started in voiceover work with some talented voiceover artists. Come connect with Jazzy Greene, Susannah Mars, Adrienne Livingston and Josh Millman as they share their voiceover journeys. We hope to inspire upcoming creative and professionals with similar backgrounds.

Mt Angel Theater Studio & TUNE TOURS

Seasoned photographer and musician, Jon Deshler has taken over the Mt Angel Theater & Studio. A unique 3000 sq ft space in a special town, built out by a novel local, his friend – Stu Rasmussen. Deshler once owned and worked out of what is now the Coopers Hall in SE Portland and has for a time been working just outside of the Portland metro area south of Oregon City in the beautiful countryside of the north Willamette Valley. Having collaborated with Rasmussen over the last twelve years on myriad projects, the two became friends and supporters of each others endeavors.

Hinge Wins Multiple Addy’s For CG Alpenrose Spot!

Congratulations to Hinge on their recent CG stop-motion style Alpenrose’s spot, ‘Keep Portland Small’ on winning multiple Addy’s last week – in particular, a Gold in Animation/VFX/Motion Graphics Elements of Advertising/Animation!

Hinge Digutal and CMD teamed up to create this charming stop-motion style CG animated campaign, Keep Portland Small, for Alpenrose’s new home delivery service.

The spot tells the story of the Alpenrose Dairy and its milk deliveries, starting with their beginning in 1916, and the growth of the once-little town of Portland, Oregon.

Oregon Film Welcomes Dallas Brown To The Team

Following on from Bob Schmaling’s retirement this month, Oregon Film is pleased to welcome a new member of our team, Dallas Brown, Project Manager. After an extensive search done in partnership with Workplace Change where we met so many wonderful and talented people, Dallas was confirmed as our new Project Manager last week and we’re excited to have her talent and energy added to our work.

Dallas is a native Oregonian with experience as a Location Scout, Assistant Location Manager, and Location Manager for various feature films, series, and commercials produced in Oregon.

Oregon Film Thanks Bob Schmaling For His Contributions

After 20 years of work with Oregon Film, Project Manager Bob Schmaling will be retiring at the end of March. It is hard to really give the proper weight and wording to everything that Bob has brought to our work, but suffice it to say that we are grateful to him, we admire him and we will miss him greatly. It has been a pleasure to work with Bob and we hope that you will agree that he has brought a unique flair to his work and to the work of our office.

Oregon’s Film & Media Incentive Program Increases

Thanks to the passing of SB1524 in the short 2022 legislative session, the rebate percentage allowances for the “Oregon Production Investment Fund” (OPIF) have been increased in an effort to keep Oregon competitive with other similar programs in the region. Gov. Brown signed the bill into law this week and the increased rebate percentages will become available to productions on July 1.

SB1524 increases the in-state labor rebate from 10% to 20% and the rebate for goods and services bought or rented from Oregon vendors from 20% to 25%.

Southern Oregon’s theDove TV Named NRB Station of the Year

theDove TV has been honored to be selected by the National Religious Broadcasters to be TV Station of The Year for 2022.

NRB has announced the recipients of the 2022 NRB Media & Special Service Awards, which recognize the most outstanding ministries, organizations, and programs/producers in the world’s largest association of Christian communicators.

“It’s our honor to recognize these NRB members for excellence and effectiveness in Christian media and sharing the Gospel,” NRB CEO Troy A. Miller said. “We look forward to presenting these awards in March at NRB 2022.”
