Call for Applications: 2023 Eastern Oregon Filmmaker Residency

The program will take place April 30 – May 26, 2023

WHAT IS THIS RESIDENCY?

A month-long program for writers/directors to get designated time and space to work on feature-length screenplays. The goal of this 4-week program is for artists to walk away with a draft that has the potential to be produced in Oregon in the coming years, and for attendees to learn about resources and opportunities available to them for film making in this region. Grant ALERT! The Outdoor Adventure Film Grant 2023 Applications Taken Starting January 23rd!

Oregon Film, and the Oregon Made Creative Foundation in conjunction with Travel Oregon, are pleased to announce the 2023 Oregon Outdoor Film Grant (OAFG2023) – the 5th grant in this collaboration.

This year’s grant is seeking to invite filmmakers to explore the “Nature Gap” – the term that describes the uneven and inequitable access to wild, outdoor spaces in America.

Natural space is supposed to be free and accessible for everyone, but in reality, it is not apportioned equally to all races, ages, genders, or income groups.

Oregon Film – Who We Are & What We Do (Jan 2023 Update)

Here at the Oregon Film office, we often get the question: “What do you do?” Well, the best answer is “a lot” but that isn’t sufficient to really capture all the work that goes on in this office. So let’s break it down.

The Oregon Film office has the mandate to oversee the economic development of the film, television, interactive, animation, and commercial industries in Oregon – with projects and producers that are living and working within the state, as well as projects and producers that are looking to bring their shows from outside of Oregon.

Baker’s Place On Oregon’s Film Trail

(Link to the full article with images here.)

Oregon is featured in more than 500 films, and a project by the state film office is marking movie locations with informational signs.

Baker County has three signs, all dedicated to the 1969 musical “Paint Your Wagon,” which was filmed here in 1968.

The markers can be found outside Baker Heritage Museum, 2480 Grove St., inside the lodge at Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort, and outside the city hall in Richland, once the ground thaws (this one will eventually be placed at Richland’s future playground).
