The Historic Oregon Film Trail Unveils First Signs In Astoria

 

Unveiling of one of three signs in Astoria marking the beginning of the Historic Oregon Film Trail.

The Historic Oregon Film Trail has officially begun!

The Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Oregon Film Office developed the initial concept of the Historic Oregon Film Trail (HOFT) and identified Astoria movie locations, in partnership with the Oregon Film Museum, that represent the beginning of the Trail.  The Oregon Coast Visitors Association provided additional funding and support for the signs.

The Historic Oregon Film Trail, has been designed to showcase iconic locations in the state, and the first official group of signs were unveiled at Alameda Park in Astoria.

POWGirls Announces Three Workshops For Spring And Summer 2019


The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival is excited to announce the POWGirls workshops for spring and summer of 2019.
The POWGirls Media Education Program launched in March of 2014 and has hosted thirteen successful workshops, producing 19 films and serving over 100 girls and non-binary youth in the Portland metro area.

Our mission is to help girls and non-binary youth, 15-19, realize their power, creativity and voice in media production and encourage them to explore opportunities as future media-makers. We want to encourage participants to be creative, tech-savvy leaders who will help realize gender equity in media industries.

Every year, the union performers in the Portland SAG-AFTRA local gather at the Lake Theater in Lake Oswego to watch their union’s televised annual awards event. This year, the event is open to all local union members and supporters, and is doubling as a fundraiser for local SAG-AFTRA president Robert Blanche, who’s fighting for his life after a double lung transplant.

The McMinnville Short Film Festival wants YOUR film! Our regular submission deadline is Monday, December 31. Submit your film today via FilmFreeway !

We accept all genres as long as they are no longer than 20 minutes. Animation films will be eligible for the Will Vinton Best Animation Award. Environmental films will be eligible for the Recology Award. All Official Selections will be eligible for the Grand Jury Prize which includes a $500 cash award as well as a trophy!

We have films coming in from all over Oregon, the US, Canada and the world.
