As a HouseSpecial animator, you will create the performance of computer graphics characters and objects within a shot, using animation software tools such as Maya to convey emotion, movement action and personality. Our teams move fast; we never compromise on creativity.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to plan out shots using thumbnail drawings or other forms of thought out planning.
Can block in rough animation with strong clear posing, acting, timing & appeal for Director, and/or Supervisor, approval within a reasonable amount of time.

Has there ever been a cohesive Loop (ADR) Group in the Pacific Northwest? I couldn’t find one, so when I moved back to Portland from LA to raise my kid, it was time to build one. Throughout 2018, we trained, rehearsed, and even worked on a few great local projects.

Now that RebeLoop is ready to go, I asked our actors at a recent session, “How should we go about getting the word out to content creators?”

Next up in our #OregonMade Film Series at The Hollywood Theatre is the Roller Derby classic: “Kansas City Bomber.” You may recall this film being featured in our Oregon Film history series Raiders of the Lost Archive – but, either way, here’s your chance to check it out on screen. Oregon Indie Film “Lovers Lane” Needs Your Support!

Sonny Malloy and Penney Parker, two young rebels living dead-end lives, embark on a murderous crime spree across the Pacific Northwest. What the pair don’t realize, is they are barreling down a dark and mysterious path leading right into the ancient woods of Lovers Lane.

Oregon Documentary Camp Launches Fellowship Award

The #OregonMade Creative Foundation has partnered with the arts-based nonprofit, NW Documentary, to establish fellowships for two documentary filmmakers to attend Oregon Documentary Camp from May 30 to June 2, 2019.

The OR Doc Camp Fellowships will be awarded to established documentary filmmakers from Oregon from under-represented backgrounds. Winners of the fellowship will receive room, board and travel expenses from Portland for the 4-day Doc Camp experience and a 30 minute private session with one of our attending documentary consultants.

We can’t attest to either our screen presence or our photogenic-ness, but we do hope that the information contained within is helpful. Our plan would be to expand this series into more detailed questions in the future if this proved to be a worthwhile communication tool.

Gordon Klco And Rob Finch – Winners Of Oregon’s Magical Winter Season Grant!

Winter Season Grant Award Winners Announced!

The Oregon Made Creative Foundation in conjunction with Travel Oregon are pleased to announce the winners of the first ever Winter Season Grant. The Grant is part of an ongoing content partnership between Travel Oregon and the Oregon Made Creative Foundation. There was a large and exciting application turnout with many creative and well-qualified ideas but Gordon Klco and Rob Finchs’ pitch, “Wish You Were Here,” took the top spot. Klco grew up in the high desert of the Rocky Mountains and his “love for skiing and kayaking led him into the adventure film world” where he started his career.

#EOFF2019 • YEAR TEN • Open For Submission

Eastern Oregon Film Festival will celebrate its tenth year of programming from October 24-26, 2019.

#EOFF2019 is now open for submission. Filmmakers hoping to participate should visit FILMFREEWAY.COM/EOFILMFEST for details and to submit. The festival is looking for feature and short length films across all genres. The submission regular deadline is April 20, 2019.

Eastern Oregon Film Festival has unfortunately lost access to screening film at The Granada Theatre after ownership opted out of its partnership with EOFF. With much excitement, the EOFF team is working hard with other partners like Eastern Oregon University, Union County, EOFF membership, and outlying key regional venues to plan a lively tenth year of celebration.

Hulu’s “Shrill” Premieres March 15th

Hulu’s six-episode series, “Shrill” is set to premiere March 15th. Executive Producers Lorne Michaels and Elizabeth Banks created the comedy series starring Aidy Bryant (Saturday Night Live) as Annie, “a fat young woman who wants to change her life — but not her body. Annie is trying to start her career while juggling bad boyfriends, a sick parent, and a perfectionist boss.” “Shrill” was inspired by the memoir, “Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman” by Lindy West.
