August 28, 2012— Double Dutch International announced today that it has acquired the worldwide rights to the psychological thriller House of Last Things. The film– written, directed and produced in Portland,Oregon by Michael Bartlett– stars RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), Lindsey Haun (True Blood) and Blake Berris (Days of our Lives). Cinematographer is Ken Kelsch (Bad Lieutenant, Big Night, Desert Flower). The world premiere festival has yet to be set.

PORTLAND, Oregon (August 22, 2012) The feature film “Cell Count” premiered on May 20th at the Fantaspoa Fantastic Film Festival in Brazil and plays at the Macabro Film Festival, Montreal HorrorFest, Sitges Film Festival, and Celluloid Screams festival later this year. Today marks the 6th film festival acceptance from the 13th Annual Buenos Aires Rojo Sangre Film Festival in Argentina. The BARS is supported by the National Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts, sponsored by the Film Museum of the City of Buenos Aires and declared of cultural interest by the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Showing his continued support of Oregon’s film and television industry, Governor John Kitzhaber issued an official Proclamation today declaring August 17, 2012 “ParaNorman Day”. Below is the language of the proclamation.
WHEREAS:Oregon has a longstanding and honorable tradition of encouraging the entertainment arts and the abundantly talented individuals whose creative work delights, informs and educates our citizens; and
WHEREAS:The handcrafted, stop-motion animated 3d movie “ParaNorman” is the second feature film produced by Oregon-basedanimation studio LAIKA; and
WHEREAS:LAIKA is deeply committed to creating an environment that supports and celebrates the art and artistry of animated filmmaking; and
WHEREAS:The lead character Norman is a young boy of ingenuity, empathy, courage and optimism and thus embodies character traits Oregonians hold most dear; and
WHEREAS:“ParaNorman” was produced entirely in Oregon and will be released nationwide by Focus Features on August 17, 2012;

Nationally renowned filmmaker Todd Haynes is the subject of a one-of-a-kind portrait that posted today on eBay. This ten-day auction supports a good cause: Haynes donated the giclee print to benefit The Right Brain Initiative’s arts education programming in Portland, Oregon area schools. The print is signed by both Haynes and the portrait’s artist, Steve Cohn. Cohn is brother-in-law to Haynes, and works under the pseudonym Jasper Marks.
