The stunning landscapes of Oregon have been a great inspiration for the past 25 years. I have been exploring and photographing around Oregon and the NW since 1993.
After graduating from photo school at the Rochester Institute of Technology and a couple years as the park photographer for Yosemite National Park, I found my way to Portland and have been loving it ever since.
Several years as a photo assistant and photographer gave me the experience to know what a crew may need from a location, and what may go wrong once the crew is on site.
The role, created at Commissioner Fish’s request, recognizes the challenges that film productions face – tight turnaround times, tight budgets, and unique physical challenges operating in a busy urban city – and establishes a direct line of communication with City Hall. This liaison role can be helpful in coordinating broad cooperation across City bureaus, problem solving, assisting with long-term financial sustainability, and establishing a high-level City lead in any issue involving the film industry. Centered around music licensing and scoring original music, Marmoset is a Northwest music agency aiding filmmakers in creating remarkable soundtracks for every project. And with a roster of vintage to independent and emerging artists, Marmoset is equipped to match music to picture on any and every scale.
Portland’s creative agency, Wieden + Kennedy, and pioneering animation studio, HouseSpecial, have together created an interactive tourism campaign that is currently traveling the country, along with their (slightly) larger-than-life “Portlanders!”
The collection of statues will be touring selected cities around the US. The public can peek into the back of their heads to view a VR-like experience of animated shorts that portray a whimisical Portland.
The Portland Film Office, in partnership with Oregon Made Creative Foundation (OMCF), invites local filmmakers to apply for funding designed to encourage the completion of a local feature-length project and position producers to build towards larger, more resourced productions.
The Post-Production Film Grant Programsupports the professional development of small, local filmmakers by providing funds for activities including sound design, scoring, editing, color correction, closed captioning, VFX, and music clearances using local post-production houses.

After that we will be showing a local feature independant film, that is packed full fabulous local talent.
