Portland’s creative agency, Wieden + Kennedy, and pioneering animation studio, HouseSpecial, have together created an interactive tourism campaign that is currently traveling the country, along with their (slightly) larger-than-life “Portlanders!”
The collection of statues will be touring selected cities around the US. The public can peek into the back of their heads to view a VR-like experience of animated shorts that portray a whimisical Portland.
The Portland Film Office, in partnership with Oregon Made Creative Foundation (OMCF), invites local filmmakers to apply for funding designed to encourage the completion of a local feature-length project and position producers to build towards larger, more resourced productions.
The Post-Production Film Grant Programsupports the professional development of small, local filmmakers by providing funds for activities including sound design, scoring, editing, color correction, closed captioning, VFX, and music clearances using local post-production houses.
“The OA” is written and produced by Brit Marling and Zal Batmanglij. Marling stars as Prairie Johnson, a young blind woman who “returns to her hometown after an unexplained seven-year absence with her eyesight restored and now calling herself “The OA.””
June 24th at the Clinton St. Theater 6-9pm will be the first “Portland Film Community” event. We will be showing off the best of the Portland Film Community “Pick of the Month” which we have been posting every month for the last three years.
After that we will be showing a local feature independant film, that is packed full fabulous local talent.

Derek DeBoer, an Oregon auto dealer, and his wife Brooke, a Southern Oregon Filmmaker teamed up in 2014 to create Fastlife, a show about a family striving to live their dreams amidst all the realities of every day life.
This short is currently screening at Portland International Airport through July in The Hollywood Theatre’s Micro- Cinema on C Concourse.

Hey all! My feature, filmed entirely in Portland, is premiering at The Clinton Street Theater this July. Marty in Transit is an ambitious 90-minute, one-shot thriller about an FBI Agent hunting down a killer who is targeting cab drivers.
