We are excited to announce the June 21st premiere of an Oregon made puppet film from Toby Froud and Heather Henson. Toby Froud is a sculptor, fabricator, puppeteer and filmmaker based in Hillsboro, Oregon. His love of puppets began at a very young age after playing Toby the baby abducted by David Bowie’s Goblin King in the Henson classic Labyrinth.
Hinge Digital was tapped by SBI Media to provide animation services for NBC’s much anticipated animated episode of Community. The live-action sitcom, now in it’s 5th season, is no stranger to animation – having produced several experimental episodes including a stop-motion Christmas episode and one in the style of an 8-bit video game. Heads up that VFX/PDX, the local visual effects artist user group, has a meeting on tap for today (April 17) featuring David Jahns of Joint Editorial, Wieden and Kennedy’s in-house post production facility. He’ll be showing off the editing software Smoke from Autodesk and his workflow for the great work coming out of Joint.

December 6, 2013 – Portland, Oregon – Oregon Story Board, launched earlier this year by a consortium of research, private, and state groups, today welcomes its inaugural Executive Director Nicholas de Wolff, after a comprehensive national search. Nicholas will be responsible for developing and overseeing the organization’s strategic and operational mission.

What car powers through all seasons? The Mégane by Renault, perfectly envisioned using full CG and VFX – no live action shoot needed.
In collaboration with directing team Andrew Nawrot and Sonja Jasansky, the Hinge creative team developed this all-CG spot for the Renault Mégane in just under two weeks. The spot features dramatic lighting as well as naturalistic visual effects of water, smoke and haze.
Award-winning motion graphics and design house, Cardboard Castle, proudly presents an evening of wonder featuring an immersive video installation inspired by the ethereal beauty of the deep sea.
Infusing digital animation with the ghostly movements of underwater creatures, viewers will float through a vivid ocean dreamscape buoyed on an ambient musical score.
Animators from Cardboard Castle will be on hand to discuss the exhibit and answer any questions from guests. This will be a casual and informative event designed to provide the local community with a window into the creative process at Cardboard Castle.
