The Southern Oregon Social DisDANCE Film Festival is an effort to bring folks together in a time of social distancing. The call for submissions is open to filmmakers residing in Jackson, Josephine, Klamath, Douglas, Coos, Curry, and Lake counties in Southern Oregon or to student filmmakers remotely enrolled in schools located in those counties.

The Corvallis Queer Film Festival that was started as an OSU faculty project 6 years ago is re-launching as the Tag! Queer Shorts Festival on February 28 at our original home venue, the Darkside Cinema in downtown Corvallis. Tag! Queer Shorts Festival will start offering pop-up screenings in Portland in the fall of 2020 and return to its multi-day competitive festival format in the winter of 2021 hosted by a major Portland arts/film organization.
New director, Clare McKay graduated with a bachelors in Communications Media from a University in San Diego County and moved back to her home in Juntura, Oregon to pursue her dream as a filmmaker. Though Oregon seemed an unlikely area for making movies she understood the basic idea behind “supply and demand”. The Ashland Independent Film Festival announced today the opening of the AIFF Film Center, the newest addition to Ashland’s vibrant visual and literary arts scene on East Main Street.
The new AIFF Film Center will serve as a year-round social hub for film lovers and provide expanded office space for the growing organization. During its annual flagship festival in April, the center will also serve as a gathering space for members and volunteers.“We are excited by the opportunity to start offering screenings and workshops year round,” said Richard Herskowitz, executive and artistic director of AIFF.
