Tag! Queer Shorts Festival presents a vibrant perspective on queer life in its 11th anniversary edition on April 6-7, bringing 51 all-new films to Portland’s Hollywood Theatre. Celebrating the work of both local filmmakers and directors from as far away as Tunisia and Iran, Tag! selections are thought provoking, humanizing, and often a bit disruptive to typical discourses around sex, gender, and relationships.

Tag! Queer Shorts Festival 2023

Tag! Queer Shorts Festival (formerly Corvallis Queer Film Festival) is celebrating its 10th anniversary year with a return to live screenings at our new home venue, the Hollywood Theatre.

This year’s festival features four blocks of all-new queer short films from around the world spread over two days, March 4-5, 2023. The Saturday evening block, West Coast Chic, is the program to attend for the best local and regional submissions.

TAG! Queer Shorts Festival is back at full length (albeit virtual…) for its 2022 run.

Featuring 60 films from 20 different countries, the TAG! program highlights the work of both established and emerging creators with a special focus on intersectional queer storytelling from BIPOC directors. The 2022 lineup offers 6 all-new thematic blocks ranging from queer origin stories in The Source to exotic and fanciful pieces in Otherworldly. The Tag! Queer Shorts Festival (formerly Corvallis Queer Film Festival) presents its 7th season in a virtual format from February 18-28. Tag! features shorts of all genres (15 minutes and under) made exclusively by trans- and queer-identifying filmmakers from around the world with an emphasis on stories from queer communities of color. This year’s festival includes 41 shorts divided into four blocks that trace a thematic pathway toward enlightenment and happiness: Isolation; Impulse; Ritual; and Ecstasy. Tag! Queer Shorts Presents Queerotica

The Portland-based Tag! Queer Shorts Festival is offering monthly online community support events with all ticket sales and donations split evenly between participating filmmakers, the Tag! festival, and LGBTQIA+ serving community partners.

The next screening kicks off with a live viewing party of erotic shorts on July 31 at 8pm in collaboration with Catalyst: A Sex Positive Place, a venue that offers education, events, and space for fetish/kink communities.

Tag! Queer Shorts Festival Launch

The Corvallis Queer Film Festival that was started as an OSU faculty project 6 years ago is re-launching as the Tag! Queer Shorts Festival on February 28 at our original home venue, the Darkside Cinema in downtown Corvallis. Tag! Queer Shorts Festival will start offering pop-up screenings in Portland in the fall of 2020 and return to its multi-day competitive festival format in the winter of 2021 hosted by a major Portland arts/film organization.
