Moviemaking has always been a collaborative process, and the need for creative production of light and sound aren’t going anywhere, but the capabilities of iPhone cameras are improving phenomenally with each new version. As now we know, some filmmakers have dabbled with creating movies just with their phones and tablets, and mobile film festivals are popping up everywhere. However, the true advantage these devices offer to storytelling is their instant connect-ability. Bill Oberst Jr. joins the cast of the film Cell Count II: Blood Count

It is now the Freeman Brothers’ profound pleasure to announce that horror icon Bill Oberst Jr. will be coming onboard for the upcoming sequel entitled “Cell Count II: Blood Count.”

Birds of Neptune, written and directed by Steven Richter (Center of Gravity, Myth of Drowning), is an independent feature film set in Portland, OR, produced by Reverie PDX and Lara Cuddy (The Weather Outside, Cell Count), and scheduled for release in fall 2013.
We were truly blown away by the amount of people that showed up on Tuesday and honestly not prepared for the possibility of filling the theater. I hear we had to turn away nearly a hundred people in Portland. Luckily the team that provided the video services for the night at PSU (thank you Brian) recorded the event. In Oregon we are blessed to have people who know how to tell stories. Storytelling has always been a part of Oregon’s DNA. We have great novelists, great song-writers, and great filmmakers. We also have great innovative storytellers. One such group of innovative storytellers is Second Story Interactive Studios. Founded in 1994 by Julie Beeler and Brad Johnson, Second Story is thought of as one of the leaders in the interactive industry, collecting over 400 awards and accolades.
