Good news for fans of “Portlandia”: the hiatus is almost over and new episodes will be airing soon. Season 3 of the IFC show starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein kicks off on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10pm. If that seems like a long time to wait for your “Portlandia” fix, there’s more good news: a special new episode, “Winter in Portlandia,” airs on Friday, December 14th at 10:30/9:30c.
Portland Mayor, Sam Adams, is rallying behind Portlandia for Emmy consideration in twelve categories, including Outstanding Variety Series. Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisens’ hit sketch comedy series has already completed two seasons in Portland and is coming back for a third this year. The show won an Emmy in 2011 for Outstanding Costumes For A Variety/Music Program.
