New Details from “Paranorman” Directors on the film

Today in the online version of indieWire, there are more details on “LAIKA’s” new feature film “Paranorman”. LAIKA has been at work on the project for more than a year already and the film is slated for an August 2012 vote.

Co-Directors Sam Fell and Chris Butler give some background behind the genesis of the project in the article.

Oregon’s film industry got quite the write-up yesterday in the Hollywood Reporter! The producers of TNT’s Leverage had wonderful things to say about shooting in Oregon, including this quote about Oregon’s talent from Co-Creator Jon Rogers:

“When we got up there we were expecting to fly in three or four cast members an episode, but we average about one or two,” co-creator/executive producer John Rogers says. “Some of the (local) actors have been so good, we’ve made them recurring characters on the show.”

My best friend is writing a musical called RAIN. He’s a master at irony and his show is set in a globally-warmed future when rain no longer falls in Portland. Its anthem is “What’s Portland Without the Rain?” Obama had to have his John McCain / Send out Lewis without a Clark? Appearing in The Credits section of their website and MPA and SJ highlight the power of Film Tourism and just some of the ways that Oregon Fil has led the way in qualifying that power into economic spending.

Recent Updates To The Oregon Film Trail

The Oregon Film Trail has had some updates lately, most recently with the newest marker installed in eastern Oregon celebrating “Breakup Season” that was shot entirely on location in rural La Grande. This brings the tally of physical Oregon Film Trail markers to 43 across the state and adds more scenes to the hundreds that can be discovered using the SetJetters app.

#OregonMade ‘Sometimes I Think About Dying’, starring Daisy Ridley, was released in the US on Jan 26th by Oscilloscope Laboratories (it opened theatrically in France on Jan 10th) and the film will be at theaters locally on February 2nd. Get ready to grab your tickets!

Oscilloscope Labs Release New Trailer – “Sometimes I Think About Dying”

Oscilloscope Labs released the official trailer for the #oregonamde indie film, “Sometimes I Think About Dying” and announced its release date, on January 26, 2024. The feature was produced by, and stars, Daisy Ridley (Star Wars prequel trilogy) and first premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Set in Oregon, it cast features Ridley, Dave Merheje, Parvesh Cheena, Marcia DeBonis, and Bree Elrod. “Sometimes I Think About Dying“ is “an unexpected fable on the virtues of living.”

Daisy Ridley, recently shared her thoughts on the movie and her experiences filming in Oregon.
