Portland’s out of work production community formed Together4Oregon to produce a live, virtual fundraiser benefiting Oregon residents hit hard by the pandemic.

Our young filmmakers were on the scene, filming skits by local artists for the event. Lydia Rose, an OTF filmmaker, says, “It’s amazing to see creatives coming together and collaborating to raise money for Oregon citizens, especially since artists aren’t the most supported community. I think it’s cool they’re giving back no matter what.”

OTF filmmaker and Peer Mentor Narci Smith was there too, both filming and helping newer OTF youth navigate being on a set for the first time.

The queerest weekend at OSF is back—digitally! From July 17-19, Pride content will take over the OSF O! digital platform and their social media accounts. Join them for creative content from your favorite queer OSF artists, deep conversations about queer art and activism, and a digital drag show and dance party on Saturday night!

$14M of Oregon state tax credits will be auctioned off with a 90% minimum bid.

The Oregon Production Investment Fund (OPIF) is a state incentive program that directly supports the continued growth of Oregon’s creative film, television and interactive industry. OPIF is funded by the sale of discounted Oregon income tax credits to taxpayers who contribute to the fund. Residents and businesses bid at auction to purchase state tax credits at up a 10% discount that can then be used for up to three years on their state income taxes.

Tomorrow OMPA’s virtual Creatives of Color Collaborative will be hosted by Karina Lomelin Ripper. Karina is a first generation Mexican-American and an independent director and producer. She is also the co-chair of the Portland Film Fatales. 

You may have seen Karina’s work with Fort Ripper for clients like Google, Facebook, and Nike; or shows for National Geographic’s Destination WILD, The Discovery Channel, HBO Films and A&E Films.

In 2015, I attended the national Rainbow Family gathering alone. I had never been to anything like this and I definitely felt like an outsider; especially since I was trying to make this somewhat discreet documentary. I wasn’t really sure what my goal was when I set out to make this. I know I definitely wasn’t interested in teaching anyone anything about Rainbow. Instead, this video is just the result  of me experience Rainbow alone, processing it, and shyly taking my camera out once in a while to steal some moments.

Soma Games LLC is an indie video game developer located in Newberg, Oregon. We believe video games can be far more than time-wasters. Video games hold the potential to showcase beauty, reward adventure and excellence, and challenge thinking. Our goal is to passionately and dutifully craft the games that elevate humanity rather than waste it.
