Klamath Falls Joins The Oregon Film Trail & Film Screening To Highlight Celebration Of “Phoenix, Oregon” Day Feb. 27

Historic marker on the Oregon Film Trail will be unveiled in downtown Klamath Falls in recognition of the film “Phoenix, Oregon” (shot in Klamath Falls in 2018) with a day-long celebration on Saturday, Feb. 27.

Event Details:
WHAT: Oregon Film Trail marker unveiling and “Phoenix, Oregon” film screening
WHERE: The Daily Bagel (1 p.m.), 636 Main St., Klamath Falls. Ross Ragland Theater (2 p.m.), 218 N. 7^th St.
WHEN: Saturday, Feb. 27, 1 p.m. available in-person and online livestream
COST: $10 for virtual livestream or theater seat (limited seating)

An historic marker, and part of the Oregon Film Trail will be formally unveiled as part of a full slate of activities in celebration of the film “Phoenix, Oregon” on Saturday, Feb.

The 2020 Killer Valley Comedy Film Festival (KVCFF) follows the 13-year legacy of the horror film festival that introduced “Killer Valley” to the Pacific Northwest, and will stream on their official website from Friday, Friday, Nov. 20 – Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020.

For 10 years, the horror film festival had been a one-night affair, hosted live in Ashland, OR. By its eleventh year (2018) the contributions from filmmakers from around the globe had grown into two nights worth of content, and the team split the program so that one night held all the satire, spoofs, and “so-bad-it’s-funny” movies, while the other night showcased the creepy, spooky, and truly scary films of the horror genre. Oregon Film Trail Dedicates A New Sign In Toledo, Oregon!

The latest sign on the Oregon Film Trail is dedicated today on Main Street across from City Hall in downtown Toledo. The sign celebrates the town’s starring role in “Sometimes A Great Notion.”

The recently installed sign marks and celebrates locations in and around Toledo in the filming of “Sometimes A Great Notion” (1971), a motion picture based on the second novel by Oregon author Ken Kesey and published in 1964. Horror Film Festival Celebrates Lucky 13th Year – Streams Online

Southern Oregon’s 2020 Killer Valley Horror Film Festival (KVHFF) celebrates it’s lucky #13 this year, but for the first time ever, it will not be hosted live. In previous years this festival celebrated independent filmmakers with in-person screenings, filmmaker meet-and-greets, and an awards ceremony in Ashland, OR.

This year, the 2020 Killer Valley Horror Film Festival launches officially on their website at 3am, Oct. 9th (the witching hour) and runs through midnight of Nov. 1st, 2020 (as the Day of the Dead makes way for All Soul’s Day). The Oregon Film Trail sign was installed last week at Silver Falls State Park, and it celebrates the starring role the park played as a location in Twilight among other films. This is the 15^th sign on the Oregon Film Trail, it was installed at the Howard Creek Trailhead parking lot near the campground within the Park.

Athena Joins The Oregon Film Trail

A brand new Oregon Film Trail sign has been installed and was unveiled today in Athena, honoring the town’s starring role as a location in the silent film, City Girl. It sits outside the Gem Theatre, Athena. The Gem Theatre hosted the dedication of the newest sign on the Oregon Film Trail, in celebration of the local filming of this F.W. Murnau silent feature film.
