Baker’s Place On Oregon’s Film Trail

(Link to the full article with images here.)

Oregon is featured in more than 500 films, and a project by the state film office is marking movie locations with informational signs.

Baker County has three signs, all dedicated to the 1969 musical “Paint Your Wagon,” which was filmed here in 1968.

The markers can be found outside Baker Heritage Museum, 2480 Grove St., inside the lodge at Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort, and outside the city hall in Richland, once the ground thaws (this one will eventually be placed at Richland’s future playground).

Oregon Film: Who We Are & What We Do (Update 2022)

What has Oregon Film been up to? – After assuring our industry worked so well through the turbulent pandemic period with several projects of all sizes, 2022 started off with a slow down. Needless to say, Oregon is still attractive and a great place to bring your creative production. Recently we worked with the state legislature and partners like the OMPA and the IATSE and SAG-AFTRA unions to increase the film and media cash rebate percentages from 18% to 25%. In addition, the annual funding for the OPIF program increased from $14M to $20M. Continue reading... “Oregon Film: Who We Are & What We Do (Update 2022)”

For The Love Of Oregon Film!

My wife and I are career Youtubers. We travel the country in a 34′ class A Winnebago, documenting our adventures all the way. Between us, we host three channels. I am That Nate Guy on YouTube, Marion is Life Unboxed, and together we are Romancing The States. We recently had the honor of falling in love with the beautiful state of Oregon when the engine in our RV gave out while traversing the mountains of California. Instead of planting ourselves in a boring hotel for 2 months awaiting the repairs, we continued on our journey, exploring Oregon in our little yellow Pontiac G5. Oregon Film: Who We Are And What We Do – 2021

We are finally seeing the light at the end of a very long tunnel for many of us. This doesn’t mean the work is done or there won’t be challenges and changes going forward, but it does mean that we are starting to see more opportunity and more creativity in all areas of our industry here in Oregon.

We’ve highlighted several stories about our community’s resilience through “The New Normal” series from local companies like Talented Animals, Ravenous Studios, Limbo Films, The Art of Make-up School, PDXpendables, Cast Iron Studios, Koerner Camera and Picture This.
