Travel Oregon’s 2022 Scholarship To Support College students & Black, Indigenous, & People of Color

Travel Oregon has opened up scholarship opportunities to attend the 2022 Governor’s Conference on Tourism specifically to encourage attendance from the BIPOC community.

The Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism (ORGC) is the premier educational and information-sharing event in the state for tourism, hospitality, and economic development professionals. The 2022 ORGC will take place in person on March 14-16 in Sunriver, Oregon.

With a commitment to applying a racial equity lens to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in Oregon’s tourism industry, Travel Oregon is proud to offer a 2022 scholarship program to support college students and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in attending the ORGC for the first time. Call for Submissions: OMPA Juneteenth Homepage Takeover

In honor of Juneteenth—a holiday commemorating the freeing of slaves in 1865—OMPA is dedicating the space of our homepage to celebrating Black creators. From June 19-26, our homepage will be a vibrant mosaic of projects and stories from our Black community members. We’ll be promoting the takeover to the community at large, encouraging them to go explore.

The fourth annual Outdoor Adventure Film Grant – “Oregon’s Outdoors Are For Everyone” (OAFG21) is pleased to announce the winning application, entitled, “You Go Girl.”

Oregon’s open spaces and outdoor pursuits are for all Americans and visitors, yet there is a well-documented inequity in America that is deeply rooted in our shared cultural history, and as a whole, our outdoor spaces are not equally utilized for a multitude of historical, social and cultural reasons.
