“GRIMM” Gives Back – Makes 310K For OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital

The Grimm Gala took place February 7th at the Exchange Ballroom as a benefit for OHSU’s Doernbecher Children’s hospital. A whopping 310,000 was donated to the “Grimmster Endowment“fund (the goal was $100,000). Many items from the show were auctioned off, and even a walk on role on “Grimm” was offered. Good news for Oregon, NBC Universal announced today that “Grimm” is being picked up for Season 5. The show, shot on stages and on location in Portland and the metro area, has been doing well on its Friday night time slot, with season 4 garnering over 7.2 million viewers all-told. “Grimm” was one of five dramas NBC renewed for the 2015-16 season.

NBC Universal’s “Grimm” returned for its third season Friday and started up right where it left off. The season 3 premiere was actually up in the ratings from the season 2 premiere and helped launch NBC’s friday night premiere of “Dracula”. Here’s one quick analysis from the Hollywood Reporter. If you were on Twitter during the friday night broadcast, you know that the show is a hit on Twitter as well. During the 9:00pm west coast broadcast the cast was live tweeting and that with the fan interaction made “Grimm” one of the top trending topics on twitter. Cast and Crew of @NBCGrimm Give Back at Oregon Food Bank

With very little fanfare the cast and crew of the NBC series “Grimm” spent their weekend working two shifts at two different locations of the Oregon Food Bank packaging 24,139 pounds of food resulting in 15,259 meals for Oregonians in need. The effort was largely organized by local film workers Bruce Lawson and Dawnn Pavlonnis, but in total there were over 30 volunteers representing members of IATSE, SAG/AFTRA, DGA, and the Teamsters looking to give a little back to the community. Oregon Vendor Spotlight: Local Nursery Supply Chain Fulfills “Grimm’s” Green Needs

The second video in our Oregon Film Summer Interns’ “Oregon Vendor Spotlight” series (above) follows the local supply chain that is utilized to provide the unique greenery needed for NBC’s “Grimm.”

In order to provide the trees, bushes and plants that help create “Grimm’s” eerie atmosphere, the show’s greensman, Charlie Carlsen, looks to local nurseries such as Dennis’ 7 Dees and Cascadian. They provide greenery from their stock and, in turn, activate their supply chain of other nurseries in the area to help meet the increased demand.
