Sheepscot Creative, Sokoloff Creative and Travel Oregon premiere new video

Two local agencies team up with Travel Oregon to produce a new video promoting tourism. Dave Weich of Sheepscot Creative and Kate Sokoloff of Sokoloff Creative, in conjunction with the Travel Oregon team, offered their creative services to this project that focuses on Governor John Kitzhaber’s own personal memories of growing up in the state. Amidst stunning footage of Oregon’s scenic landscape are photos from the Governor’s personal photo album. These images of him as a young boy fishing and camping illustrate his connection with Oregon’s rural pristine places and the benefits of travel.

Oregon Film, PIE, and Intel Partner to Form Oregon Story Board – Hack With TrackTown USA is First Project

Program to embrace growing digital storytelling cluster, accelerate new projects


PORTLAND, Ore — DATE — The Oregon Governor’s Office of Film and Television and PIE (Portland Incubator Experiment) have partnered to launch Oregon Story Board, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the education, support, and promotion of digital media production throughout Oregon. Intel Corporation has committed to the program as the first corporate sponsor.  Oregon Story Board has also teamed with Eugene based TrackTown USA for its first project – the “Hack at Hayward”.

Cast Iron Studios School Parents Of Child Actors

Cast Iron Studios will host “Acting Like a Pro – Parents’ Boot Camp” on April 5 at U of O Portland Extension

PORTLAND, ORE. In conjunction with its upcoming master series of workshops featuring prominent L.A. and NY casting directors, Cast Iron Studios will be hosting its first ever “boot camp” aimed exclusively at parents of aspiring child actors.

On Friday, April 5, 2013, Casting Directors Lana Veenker and Eryn Goodman of Portland’s Cast Iron Studios (Grimm, Leverage, Twilight) will welcome Los Angeles Kids’ Casting Director Christine Scowley (How to Rock, Movie Surfers, Smash Cuts, Rock the Cradle) to the University of Oregon White Stag Block in Portland’s Old Town for a lively panel discussion and Q&A.

Whether you are an experienced filmmaker or just waiting to make a splash, now is the time to dive in. FUNDAMENTAL & INTENSIVE SCREENWRITING, DIGITAL EDITING, and SOUND DESIGN & EDITING are only a few of the alluring spring classes at the Film Center.

 

DIGITAL EDITING I examines the various styles and techniques of editing using Avid Media Composer. Students will organize footage, add sound effects, and give a voice to their projects. DIGITAL EDITING II is more ambitious, diving deeper into perfecting the flow and emotional quality of a story.

3D Artist Scott Robertson Presenting Modo+Mari – April 18th!

3DPDX, VFX/PDX and PAMUG present an evening with concept artist Scott Robertson.  Scott is renowned for his product design work and contribution to films such as Minority Report.  He’ll be coming up to show us his recent work and demo the power of The Foundry’s Modo and Mari 3D software.

Food + drink will be provided and a raffle with some great prizes is also on tap.  Come hungry!

Portland, OR based director, Alicia J. Rose signs on to helm dark teen comedy MY SUMMER AS A GOTH

Alicia J. Rose, Portland, Oregon-based video and commercial director and accomplished photographer, has signed on to direct her first feature film, MY SUMMER AS A GOTH.

Rose, a prolific music video writer/director, has worked with Bob Mould, Cake, Laura Gibson, Talkdemonic, Menomena, Ages and Ages, Holcombe Waller, The Builders And The Butchers, Viva Voce, Loch Lomond and others. Her video for Corin Tucker’s “Neskowin” was recently featured among other select women-directed short films at the opening night of the 2013 Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (or, POWFest).

Bent Image Lab Shows “Recycling Is A Beautiful Thing”

Bent Image Lab has a new stop motion animated commercial they did for Arrowhead’s new 500ml ReBorn TM bottle called, “Recycling is a Beautiful Thing”.  The campaign idea and concept is by Ad Agency Threshold Interactive, produced by Bent Image Lab and directed by Bent’s Solomon Burbridge.

Burbridge says,“The awareness aspect in this spot is really important. If everyone were more aware about the things that we were accidentally  throwing away, we would be able to use a lot more recycled material in the bottles that are made.”
